Old Electric Company..any ever find this?

I believe there was a post on this before...

I remember and old Electric Company bit where a guy was being tickled in a movie theater. I think it was for the word "Stop" or something. He kept saying it and you didn't know why then the camera panned back and some lady next to him was tickling him.

Anyone else remember that? I've never seen a clip.

YES..I remember this as well...Morgan Freeman was Tickled by Winnie (Judy Gaubert)..I have been searching for this clip for a while...

🙂 Nah, just confused a bit. That was a story from the comic book called "Spidey Super Stories" that was done as a colaboration between Marvel Comics and the Electric Company.

OK, so to satisfy my own curiosity, and to prove I wasn't "crazy"...according to Wikipedia, there actually WAS an episode of Spider-Man on the Electric Company. "Spidey Meets the Tickler" in 1975-1976.

Yes, that was real. I remember it well. The Tickler was a bad stand up comic who started tickling people to make them laugh at his jokes. Spidey distracts him by pretending to find his jokes funny.

There was also the classic scene where one of the girls was tickled by the word tickle.

I haven't seen either of them in 30 years, though.

yea, that wasnt a real clip...the skit that the original comment referred to was done in a movie theater with Jude Gaubet and Morgan Freemen illustrating the use of the word "stop"...very hard to find.

I think I remember a "The Adventures of Letterman" skit where Spell Binder replaced the 'P' from 'Pickle' w/a 'T' to make it ... well , you know.

Naturally , chaos ensued thereafter.

I know I have a clip of this somewhere.....the one with one of the girls being tickled by the word "tickle". It may take me sometime....I have way too many clips I have never put into a better arranged archive (I really need to do that someday for easier access) but I have some free time tonight and tomorrow...Ill see if I can find it.

No clip of it ever turned up that I saw. But I'd love to see it again if you find it.

Well, I looked through my most recent stuff (2008-2010) and could not find it. So it is either in my way-back archives on Data CD's (1998-2008) or on my VCR tape collection I have yet to convert to DVD's. (1990-1998)

I thought it was more accessable because I remember the scene and know I have watched it in the last year or so. Ill do some more looking, it will take me longer however. I did find a few other GEMS I had not seen in awhile...I think one I do not believe I have ever seen posted. I just may re-track that clip down and post it.

OK, I hate to revive a "dead" thread by searching for something totally different on the Electric Company, BUT ... when I was a child, I vaguely remember a skit in which a man goes to a fortune teller/palm reader, but rather than "read his palm," she actually uses the bottom of his bare foot instead.

I honestly can't remember if there was any tickling or not ... but I was only 5 years old at the time!!!

So please, someone out there ... did I just imagine this over the course of the last 30 years? Does anybody else remember this or am I just crazy? And if anyone else does remember it, do you know where I might be able to find it! It's been three decades of frustration!

Until and unless PBS releases complete season sets of the Electric Company, I don't think this is going to turn up.

Unless someone has it and just doesn't know anyone is looking for it... 😀
