I've always heard this word used in reference to the skylark bird....it sings while it flies. Maybe it's a colloquialism, but to skylark in Mississippi means to sing out in a happy sound while you're doing something else. Hence..singing out in a laugh while you're being tickled.

BUT, to use YOUR definition....Have you ever been to a gathering and watched folks as they try to behave?? HANDS IN POCKETS! Shoved tightly down...until they realize they are going to touch someone! It's aslo applicable when you're trying to behave in public. I've always been suspicious of the folks who have their hands still or clasped when there is flesh exposed very closely. Just things that come into mind. I did however take lipbiting and growling off the list. I'm reathingking that now!😛 lol

Interesting..CLimax should be on that list..as should enticing and a few others...wonder which others I may have missed.😕 I love that y'all read each one and added your own!! Wnder if someone could write a tickle story and incorporate them all???

Jo, maybe we should designate you as our official thesaurus. Or, maybe Poet Laureate of the Tickle People. I thoroughly enjoy the list and find everyones' additions exhilarating.

I sense my youngest daughter takes after her old man in not being able to say the word "tickle" in public. A couple months back she told her older sister, "Dad 'tortured' Mom this afternoon."

I always liked what one of my aunts used to call it: The perfect tease.
