I seen this at Walmart today. A toy guitar that enables yet another proliferation of guitar posers. I would never touch Guitar Hero or Rock Band, since I seen it as another version of Karaoke.

Whatever happened to real music? Where's Noah's flood? Let's flush the toilet people!
 
The case for Guitar Hero is that it's a game. It was never meant to teach anyone how to play guitar, much in the same way that a racing game is not meant to teach someone how to drive a real car, and a first person shooter does not teach someone how to actually handle and effectively aim a gun, much less actually shoot and kill someone/something with it.

You don't see people bitching about Forza, saying that people should learn to drive a real race car instead of simply driving one in a game - because that's obviously a cop-out, race car driving poser thing to do.

Also, "saw." The word you're looking for is "saw."
 
Meh..I find nothing wrong with karaoke as long as I am not subjected to participating in any way including listening to drunk James Taylor wannabees butchering You've got a friend...and thinking they sound awesome...

As for guitar Hero or this new thing...never....boring as hell and a waste of time as far as I am concerned...
 
It's just a toy. Take a chill pill from one of those toy kiddie medical kits, or relax with some pot brownies made in an Easy Bake oven. It represents the real thing - it doesn't replace the real thing.

Besides, people who shop at Walmart can't really afford actual Fender Stratocasters for their 8 year-olds, from what I've saw in my life.
 
As a lover of Guitaro Hero, a butcherer of karaoke music, and an ex-bass player...I kind of want to try this.

Because like they say above. It's just a game.
