You know, I was thinking the same thing earlier. Maybe it just means we have too many celebrities nowadays? :ermm:

One thing is for sure, the moment when they show those who have died in the past year at the oscars is going to be longer than usual in 2010!

Patrick's passing made this a very sad day. He was a quality actor. My fav Swayze flick is Roadhouse. Jeff Healey was his pal in that one. I'd like to think they are getting re-acquainted in the heaven right now.

He was 20 years older than me but I was old enough to be alive when
he made his first mark in fame. I remember an interview he once gave~I beleive he was, as well as a ballet dancer, a football player with a full scholarship ride to university. He said that he asked his dad, "What if they make fun of me for being a ballet dancer?" His dad, a good ol' Texas boy, just like him, said "Well son, you put your ballet slippers in your back pocket. And then you kick the shit out of them."

He will be missed, and anyone wanting to be famous could not do much better than to follow his example.

The lead story on the local news tonight at 11:00pm was the passing of Patrick Swayze. Kind of ironic that they showed the tickling scene in Dirty Dancing between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey as the opening video to the 11:00 news. I had to smile a little bit.

There aren't too many guys that make me drool. But, he was one of them. Add to his good looks all that talent, genuineness and all around class. It's a real loss. I'm glad that he isn't having to suffer any more. May he rest in peace. And may all who love him find peace in their loss.

Yeah when I heard that Patrick Swayze died just last night I was so saddened and really crushed to hear it. I absolutely loved him in Dirty Dancing and loved him in the movie Ghost. It is such a tragic loss. He seemed such a sweetie and such a kind gentle loving giving soul. A very handsome caring and sweet kind guy he seemed. I find it interesting while battling to stay alive-trying to find a cure for pancreatic cancer and cancer-I found this very interesting and definitely applaud him on that and think that is a really great thing that he did. I had no idea he had been doing that. Yeah he did seem pretty down to earth and like he could "real" never seemed like a snob, not a snob. I would have soooooooooo would have loved to have hugged him. I bet he would have been a great hugger. He seemed such a sweet guy. He will be dearly missed. I will miss him greatly. Thanks for creating this thread and may he rest in peace-know he will be fondly remembered. RIP Patrick Swayze and know you were fondly loved. you will be forever still loved.
