Phobias

To be totally honest, not all species of spiders freak me out......have never stressed over the little "house" spiders which spin cobwebs in the corner.....nor "grandaddy longlegs". Those big gold and back "orb" spiders which create huge webs in area fields never bothered me much either. I've never stressed over tarantulas, since the only ones I've ever seen here in Georgia were at ZooAtlanta.

The spiders which I fear are of course the venomous black widows and brown recluse "fiddleback" spiders; also those freakin "jumping" spiders which can leap halfway across the room it seems.

I have a healthy respect for anything poisonous. But it isn't really a true fear.

Your face when you was helping me in my garden the other day when you saw that spider with an egg sack or something attached to it, classic! 😀

So I suppose it's pretty much unanimous that spiders are the #1 phobia here. Glad it is cuz that means we can all feel well knowing we're in good company. 😀

Well, just as a heads up. There's a big difference between fears and phobias. Phobias are irrational and extreme psycho problems. e.g. you can't even look at a photograph of a spider without getting a panic attack.

I have a thing about balloons personally. 😛 Just that I have sensitive ears, the suddenness and shock of them exploding just makes me very uneasy. Oh, and spiders too, but at the same time I love them

Like I've told a few of you in here, I've got Phallophobia. Yes, that means that
I'm afraid of penises. No worries though, won't chop any off

I'm also afraid of spiders, snakes, insects, heights, small spaces, the dark, shots, blood,
being chased, being afraid, scary movies, sharp objects, pointy objects, maths... yeah. That's basically it.

I have a phobia about hitting a bowling ball on the freeway doin 70 plus.
Irrational ? Yeah I'd say so.
Bet there's a name out there somewhere for this phobia though.
If you have a name for my phobia, be polite ok ? 😀

big spiders... but then again.. I am in Michigan and have an old MI basement with a walk out cellar.. once went down to do laundry and above the washer was a huge baseball size (no I am not lying ) wolf spider... they are very harry and look like a tranchulla. I ran upstaires called to Don.. he laughed ..I tld himto get his steeltoed 10 pd work boots.. he came downstaires.. I went to run up them.. he called outto me to not leave him incase it attacked him.. he was freaked.. for we had never seen one that big... the small one. I will kill myself.. but damnnnnnn that was the granddaddy biggest one I had ever seen... wish I had thought to get picture of it...

I dont like poisionious snakes.. rats, wild mice, heights

I'm absolutely fascinated with and at the same time terrified of sharks... I've had nightmares about falling off a ship and being stranded in the middle of an ocean, awaiting detection by an ancient prehistoric predator...

Another ancient reptile that makes my skin crawl by simply seeing a picture of it is any type of snake.... especially the deadly kind... Needless to say, an encounter with a king cobra, hooded and poised in front of me would probably kill me... before it even had a chance to strike...
