Talking about tickling I don't have a problem with - it's the stupid questions I hate. I have a low tolerance for stupidity.

I'm sure some people use it just to strike up a conversation. You can't tell me you have never asked a question you already knew the answer to, just to make small talk to someone you find interesting..

I can honestly say I have not. I don't ever make the first move. It's unnatural for me. And anyway, stupid questions are annoying except when you're using them to tease an old friend - like one of my friends who's a polific writer said she no longer loved her blog because some people are upset she talked about them there. So I teased her by asking if she still loved Shark Week. (She's written love letters to Shark Week before.) That was to make her smile.

But to strike up a conversation? No, no, and again - NO. It's a stupid thing to do and makes the asker look like they've got all the intellegence of a drunk hillbilly chimpanzee.
