That's awful. Ironically, I just got done telling someone about a girl who had survived cancer. My prayers are certainly with his family.

Tracy and I will pray for his sister in law and he and the family....

Oh god no. I'm so sorry to hear that. I've been talking to Smiley awhile ago and though I understood her condition was serious, I still hoped her prognosis was not that bad.
My thoughts definitely go to their whole family, specially to her husband and kids. This is so sad.
I wish them all the strength in the world.

Thank you Lisa, Smileytkls,I am saddened to hear this news and I am sending good thoughts and prayers to your sister in law and your family..:grouphug::grouphug:

A time of loss and grief

My most recent IM's from Smiley

TL (7/24/2008 12:37:12 PM): We were up very late/early, trying to make plans, calling relatives and friends, basically trying to accept the reality and finality it seems is upon us. We'll be heading up for the extended weekend tomorrow, don't know what'll happen, but I'll try to let you know as soon as I can.

TL (7/24/2008 5:58:19 PM): I don't think I'll be able to stay long, but I wanted you to know that this afternoon, Pam died at home, apparently peacefully. We're still planning on going up tomorrow, I'm guessing the funeral will be Saturday, Sunday or maybe even Monday. I'll let you know how things are going when I can.

Smiley and his family need your thoughts and prayers, now more than ever. Pam leaves behind her husband and 4 children ranging in age between 9 to 4 years old.

I heard about some of this too, but not to the full extend. My prayers go out to him and his family.

My deepest condolences. May she rest in peace and may her family with time find the strength to recover from that terrible loss.

Just wanted to let you know tht the funeral is today, so if we could keep them in prayer and for hte next few weeks as they go through the greiving and adjustment of the loss. esp the children and the spouce now he is a single father.

Hi everyone. I know Smiley will chime in himself when he is able to get back into town, but I wanted to express thanks to all who sent, and are still sending, thoughts and prayers to him and the whole family. I was able to make it up to Michigan to be with him and the family over the weekend. Unfortunately, I could not stay longer or go to the funeral today because of my work (yes, I know I need to quit that unfeeling place). It was nice to see the nieces and nephews be regular kids for the most part. I just felt so horrible, and still do, when they would get that look in their eyes every once in a while. The whole weekend seemed so surreal too because I saw Pam on Father's Day. And Smiley's nephew just had his 10th birthday on Friday (yes, the day after). I sooo wish I was there in body right now, rather than just in spirit as I have been the past couple days. They plan on coming back down to Smiley's parents' house for a bit before school starts and I plan on spoiling those cute kids with as much love as possible.

She was a wonderful person, mom and wife to Smileys brother. She will be missed.

My condolences. No should have to experience such heartache. 🙁

I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers for myself and my family. Yes, my sister-in-law passed away last Thursday at home after half a year of treatments, with my brother and sister there with her. The kids are resilient so far, but as mentioned before, there are those quiet moments that their sadness shows through. I was doing all right at the service today until I caught sight of my brother, who usually is able to hold in any sadness, sobbing openly, along with my oldest nephew. I, along with some other relatives, will have to leave tomorrow, but we'll be keeping in close contact with my brother and his kids, through the long road ahead. Again, thanks to all who were thinking and praying for us, at least she's free of pain and that is a comfort, small and unsatisfying as it might be. 😉

Smiley,

I am sorry that I cought this thread so late. You and Your family are so very much in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and God Bless you. Sending comforting thoughts to you and your family.

SMiley, you know I am always here for you any time bro..
