Hey again, everyone. Just wanted to give you all an update. Mom met the surgeon early this morning to talk over the game plan. Things turned out really, really well. Apparently, it's a sort of intermediate growth that is still somewhere around stage 1 or 2. Her surgery is scheduled for September 4th, where the 2 cancerous lumps will be removed. She will need to have radiation therapy, 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks, but may well be spared chemo. Her survival rate stands between 95-98%, which is just absolutely wonderful news. Everyone is really optimistic.
The Friday of the surgery is going to be a long one, as the surgery is expected to take a good 8 hours. I'm taking the day off of work so that I can see mom before she goes into surgery... just in case, because you never really know for sure. I will then attempt to find some way to spend my time that will not have me thinking about her every waking second, probably to little if no avail. Keeping in touch with dad and little sister, I will return when mom awakens and can have visitors. Gifts in hand, of course.
I'd like to thank each any every one of you again. I've even gotten a ton of kindness from those that I haven't always gotten along too well with. That means so much to me, and I can promise you that it will not be forgotten. I love you guys like family.
