So, I've been doing project work for this video game company for the last two and a half years, right? Doing whatever tasks are required and getting paid a token sum whenever money happens to come in for those projects. Not a bad gig, but certainly not a livable salary or anything.
Last night, I get the call saying that I've been internally promoted from "Contract Writer" to "Design Director". Which means I've gone from doing whatever needs to be done on a project-by-project basis to HEAD OF THE F%@$ING DEPARTMENT!!!!!
After discussing it with the company prez last night, we're going to try to do this without me leaving Toronto, which is amazing. I officially start Sept. 28th, if not sooner. It also (sadly) means that Bella Bash 2009 is up in the air for now, but hey, you can't have everything.
So, yeah. Go me!
