..........I trust all you Americans enjoyed the television coverage of "Gorgeous George" Galloway MP giving testimony before the Senate committee on homeland security.
I hope it finally dispells the commonly held view of many Americans of the British as being, mealy mouthed, over polite and incapable of straight talking.
I have to say I enjoyed immensly the tremendous discomfort evidenced on the faces and body language of the happless committee members!
They were clearly not used to being spoken to in such a blunt uncompromising manner.
These dusty pompous senators would wonder what had hit them if they had to ply their trade in the house of commons.
Galloway, and many other mp's talk to the prime minister in exactly the same way, this was no special performance laid on just for the Americans. It was just another day at the office for gorgeous george.
American politicians need to be spoken to like this on a regular basis in my opinion. They need their "duck knocking off" rather more often.
