I'm sorry, but am I the only one who LOVES the Cowboy look? It totally drives me bananas!


I used to hate it, but for some reason, now I can't get enough of it.


Ladies, your thoughts? Do you like the Cowboy look on men?

One of my undergrad English professors tried to fix me up with a cowboy once. He thought this particular cowboy needed a woman who could keep his ego in check and oddly enough thought of me. The professor, you see, knew how I dealt with out-of-control egos because he'd experienced it first hand. I suspect he also hoped to prevent my resuming a relationship with another guy of whom he had a low opinion. It was a thoughtful gesture and funny as it turned out because the cowboy and I already knew each other. He had previously escorted me to a social function, as a friend. And, at the time of the attempted fix up had just begun to date one of my friends, who was not at all hesitant to let him know when his ego was getting out of control. I knew a lot of cowboys in South Texas. My sisters and lots of my friends were totally nuts about them. One friend wouldn't date a guy who didn't wear and look good in Wranglers. Can't say that I was ever attracted to a guy just because he wore western clothes or jeans well. And, I don't remember actually dating a cowboy, but I was friends with quite a few.

I was born and raised in a resort town (Santa Barbara), then moved to a big city (Boston), now live in what some would call a large town (the state Cap) so I never grew up around the whole cowboy scene, so I never really got it. But, I do give props to the guys who pull it off confidently, it takes someone pretty special to do it well.

It depends on the man, but those who can pull it off well will definitely catch my eye. There are a few male country artists who have the cowboy flair pretty much perfected, and they could keep me entranced by farting the alphabet if they wanted to (Tim McGraw, Toby Keith and Trace Adkins to name a few...yummy).

*sighs* Facial hair, cowboy looks - the more I say I don't like these things (and I don't, BTW) the shallower I look.

I'm not saying I want a guy in a suit - though suits are incredibly sexy - t-shirt and jeans is fine, but dang, no cowboy looks, please.

I guess it's just because every guy I knew who dressed like that likes country "music" and I abhor it!

If it's a look that works for a guy, I like it. Some guys try the look (for whatever reason) and they just look uncomfortable and out of place with it. Of course, I appreciate nearly any look that the guy is truly comfortable in and open with.

I've been to quite a few rodeos in my day and whoa some really good looking men there although not sure I could ever see myself with one, a cowboy that is. I will say Matthew McCaunahey (sp?) looks damn hot in that Stetson ad and he's got the cowboy thing happening.

I guess for me, I think there are obviously some guys that pull it off but those are usually the guys that look good in anything. The cowboy look itself around here isnt exactly the "coolest" look but hey, if u like it u like it I guess lol Wow Im such a big help huh? 😉
