Question for TMF Authors (Warning--Somewhat Sexually Graphic)

I am curious, oh, League of Extraordinaries...

How would you (or how do you) handle it if one of your readers PMs you and says something along the lines of, "Wow, your story made me cum three times!" or something equally as graphic...? Is that offensive? Do you even respond with much more than a gracious or demure "thank you"? Should you?

I've had some post on the story itself, hinting at that very same thing, without being too explicit..I would just say thank you, see it hit a nerve with you hehe..or something rather jokey...

I've had so many different reactions to my stories over the years that nothing shocks me anymore. To be honest, if people get something out of one of my tales, then it's good. It really doesn't matter, just the fact that my stories hit a nerve in one way or the other tells me I'm doing something right.

However, to answer your question, I'd just say "Thank You" and leave it at that. This is, after all, an adult fetish forum and it's to be expected. I consider it a high compliment.

honestly, i have never had that kind of a response, but if i did, i probably wouldnt care. i write a lot of erotic type stories, so that comment wouldnt surprise me. hell, any feedback i can get, i like.

To that type of response (and to various other postive responses) I usually PM back something like this:

I'm very glad that you enjoyed my story "title of story." 😀
If you've read a lot of my stories, could you do me a favor and tell me which one was your favorite and why?

What I've learned from the answers to that question is that different things please different people, which is hardly surprising.

PS: Nobody ever said three times in a PM to me after reading one of my stories. 😛

I have had such PM on my stories.

I love to get them; my stories are written to be as erotic as possible.
I will admit that I have sometimes replied in a way to invite further communication, because I am after all single.
I have also had women PM me that after reading one or another of my stories they had to have their chair reupholstered.
I assume that had a similar meaning.
One lady told me that my story "A Tale Of Four Women" gave her a climax for each of the four major tickling scenes in it.
I LOVE to get PM like that.

im not a author or nothing, but for me reading many many stories...lol if a girl or guy whichever gets excited/aroused from it, i think is a very nice compliment cuz its making the reader feel...tingly and sensations kick in and im gonna shut up now but im sure u know where im coming from on this lol. I have received a few PM's with that more 'personal' information weaved into the reviews and compliments of a story I recently posted. Since that more intimate information came along with positive words around my writing and story line, I take it as the compliment it is meant to be. I have also responded and said that I am so happy that my words produced such an enjoyable and positive effect on them.

To take it a step further, it also means that the person who reads our story took a moment to tell us they not only read but enjoyed our work. I always respond to the person that took the time to say "Hello, thanks for writing!"

And there it is. If you're making artwork or writing stories about a sexual fetish then I suppose the highest compliment someone can pay you is to say it made them blow their load. Yeah being complemented on your scene-setting and character development is nice, but let's face it if your stuff makes people blurt then you're on to a winner.

If it makes people blurt three times you're doing something very right. So yeah, well done.

A courteous thanks is sufficient along with maybe a "glad to see you were overcome with joy".
Otherwise.....a simple polite 'thanks' will do nicely.
