LOL, I hear ya man. I didnt enjoy much either, but those were the days, no bills to pay, no insurance worries, a meaningless job just needed t o buy the weed for next week, hanging out with friends everyday, yeah
 
Conceded on the first three... but that last one was part of the problem. 😛 Everything's more bearable if there's a gang to have your back.
 
Yup, and I had quite a gang that few people would want to mess with, which is probably why I didn't get into THAT many fights during HS. I still miss all my sexis the most though...

And a couple real life attempts but... you know... I was even more socially inept than I am now. It's really quite odd... turning 12 and changing schools cut my charm in half.
 
Heh, that kinda happened to me once. But then when I changed schools back it went back to where it was, if not higher. I was in HS then though, so who knows how that works.

See, I went to a different high school from everyone else. Biggest mistake of my life, of course, but one I didn't have the courage to rectify. Anyway... your charm came back because you returned to the people who grew up with you, who understood your quirks and accepted them when you met each other at age... 5, 6, whatever. I was quite the little weirdo at age 10, but kids that age more readily accept difference.
 
I went to a diff high school for the first 3 years of HS---came HOME for my Sr Year. Best friggin year of my life😛

Actually...no, none of them were childhood friends at all, and they certainly didn't except my quirks, I just had to make it seem like I didn't have any. A task that caught up with me eventually I guess...

And I STRONGLY disagree with kids that age being more accepting, but then I guess I wouldn't know since I put so much work into being acceptable during my teen years.

I couldn't even try. I mean, I was open at first, got socially murdered for it, then just laid low for a while. I didn't know how to ingratiate myself on other people's terms. I'm not sure I do today.

I guess I sort of meant kids at... like... age 5 or 6. But maybe I'm still wrong... maybe I had just a spot of luck in that department. Enough for me to think that it was gonna be as easy in the next place as it was in the last.

(Reflecting upon my posts over the last little while, I sound bitter... but I'm not, really. It could have been a lot worse, and besides, it's good creative fodder 🙂)
