Random Banter Thread 4

Now see, I've always maintained that they're only called griddlecakes if they're made with cream of wheat instead of pancake mix. n_n

Favorite Pancakes - Courtesy of Betty Crocker's Cookbook

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons shortening, melted, or salad oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Beat egg; add remaining ingrediants in order listed and beat with rotary beater until smooth. Grease heated griddle if necessary. To test griddle, sprinkle with few drops of water. If bubbles skitter around, heat is just right.

Pour batter from tip of large spoon or from pitcher onto hot griddle. Turn pancakes as soon as they are puffed and full of bubbles but before bubbles break. Bake until other side golden brown.

Makes ten 4-inch pancakes.

I have a "Hello Kitty" waffle maker! :redstar: 😱 :redstar:

*smirking "Gadzoooks! all the variations of "pancakes" has got me hungry - Thanks you guys!" grabs a bucket and spiget, "Now I have to go back to Quebec to collect some maple syrup!!" LOL

Anyone else read the comics in the sunday paper (or am I ignorant and Oregon is the only place that has them?😛) My favorite is Pearls Before Swine and I read one of the funniest ones today making fun of the Family Circus.

I think nearly all the newspaper comics are the least funny things in print. There're news articles that're more hilarious. But I'm probably just spoiled on all the webcomics I read.

thats nice and all but nothing beats belgium waffels XD

Well, there's no arguing there

I haven't really read many webcomics. Do you know of any links or websites where I could find some good ones?

I've read Dilbert on occasion. It has it's funny moments but some of the time I'm not sure I get the jokes.

Anyway, this website has some strips of that comic I was talking about, if anyone is curious. Just click on the calender under "last 30 days" to view the past month's stories (I would personally recommend looking at the one for day 8/10, as this is the last day it will be up and I found it amusing).

I miss her too!! *cries on noob's shoulder*
My shoulder feels your pain. ='(

I say we all move to North Wales. 😉

And Karen, I didn't take you out deliberately. I was editing my signature and it said something about maximum of 4 lines in signature and it cut out your quote because with your quote, it would've exceeded the limit. I'm still working on fixing that. ^_^;

At least you're still in my preference. 😉

I get Dilbert at work every week. Some days it's funny. Some days it's word for word what happens during our pharmacist's meetings...
