Howdy -

If you could pick the top 5, what would they be?

I'm going with the following:

1) Family Guy

2) Simpsons

3) Jimmy Neutron (yeah, thats right - carl is hysterical)

4) the Critic

5) South Park

1: Justice League (and soon, probably Justice League Unlimted..I can't wait for the chance to see the episode where Batman sings..just reading about it was funny...poor Bats, having to do that to save Wonder Woman 😛 )

2: Batman: The Animated Series. (best episode ever: "The Cat and the Claw" part 1 and 2. Why? One word: "Catwoman". Meeoww. lol)

3: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (the 80's version)

4: the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series (from 2002, to 2004..not sure if it's totally canceled, but there hasn't been an episode sense the last part of "Awaken the Serpent" ) the characters were updated nicely..especially the Sorceress. (starts singing::: "Teela's mom has got it goin on...she's all I wanted and I've waited so long..." ::stops singing when forum members look ::: )😛

5: Thundercats.

The ALL TIME king!

Tron

Yeah, Looney Toons was a classic...SpongeBob, Ed,Edd, and Eddie, and other cartoons like them are just Looney Toon imitators..and bad ones at that. 😛

Gotta love the Road Runner, too.

::: sneaks up behind the TMF females (and right behind Mistress Diva:: "MEEP MEEP!!" :::watches the women jump high enough to bonk their heads on the ceiling, sticks tonuge out, then zooms off::

The old Bugs Bunny cartoons.....actually anything from that era by Warner Brothers.
Also, the older Tom and Jerry toons.

Drew

I agree with the Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry.I think my favorite though is the Coyote and the RoadRunner,he chased him all the will I was a kid,and on the reruns he still hasn't caught him.:bump: :imouttahe :bouncybou

Classics?

1: Any and all Looney Toons characters and cartoons
2: The old disney cartoons. And I mean the OLD ones.😀
3: Thundercats
4: Centurions (Power Extreme! 😀 )
5: Pirates of Dark Water

And those are just the few I could think of. Speed Racer, Hong Kong Phooey, Wacky Racers, Scooby Doo, so many others I enjoy. Flintstones, Jetsons, Space Ghost, Herculoids......the list is endless.

Family Guy

Animaniacs

Ren and Stimpy

Any old Warner Bros. toons, especially THE DUCK!

South Park

Honorable mention: Winx Club. The show itself is retarded, but those girls are soooo cute...

...I am so lonely...🙄 😀

My top 5 would be:

1)Voltron
2)Tom and Jerry (priceless)
3)Looney Tunes
4)Woody Woodpecker
5)He-Man and Transformers

1. Scooby Doo

2. Bugs Bunny/Looney Toons

3. Muppets(altho technically not a cartoon)

4. Garfield and Friends

5. Transformers(my brother made me watch them when we were kids😛 )

I was stuck watching She-Ra , cause it'd come on BEFORE He-Man...I think. lol

Yeah, not as big a deal now..but it was the 80s back then, and She-Ra was a girl's cartoon..if it'd been in the 90s with stuff like Xena, Buffy, etc... --anyone else think they got the idea for Xena from She-Ra? Their origins are pretty similar, from how the turn from villan to heroine--, then I probably wouldn't have minded watching it.

(not to mention She-Ra's pretty hot for a cartoon character...hey, stop laughin, they showed a pic of a model dressed as her at some comic con or something, and she looked just like a real-life version...well, except the armor and sword were plastic. lol)

The Simpsons
Super Friends
Batman(early 90s version, and this is still the best representation of the character outside the comics)

Agreed..after all, he's been around more than ten years in that form, now starting from "Batman: the Animated Series", then in "Adventures of Batman and Robin, then in "The Batman/Superman Adventures", "Batman" (that one had Tim Drake as Robin, and Dick Grayson as Nightwing..the comic based off the show was "Batman: Gotham Knights", I think), then the animated movies, "Mask of the Phantasm", "Sub Zero", also in "Batman Beyond" (and the BB movie, "Return of the Joker")...finally ending up in "Justice League" (and now, "Justice League Unlimited")

Man..that guy who does the Dark Knight's voice has done alot of work, hasn't he? 😀

I think alot of those characters where the best in these shows (especially the Animated Series) . ....and it was nice to see Batman kick Bane's ass. I always knew Bruce could've done it if he'd been in top form during Knightfall storyline in the comics. 😉

Ranking them is damn near impossible:

1. Buggs Bunny and Looney Tunes.

2. Ed, Edd, and Eddie.

3. Batman Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Garfield and friends, family guy, south park, dragonball series, cowboy beebop, PPG, KND, Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Cow and Chicken, Simpsons, Futurama, Time Squad, Duck Dodgers, Gargoyles, the list goes on and on.

Bugs
Scooby
Jetsons
Simpsons
Flintstones

XOXO

I can't mention I forgot to mention Looney Tunes. The Pythons of the cartoon world, they did things Disney would have an aneurysm over.Road Runner cartoons are still some of the funniest things I've ever seen.So simple, yet they work on so many levels.

Star Blazers
Spider-man the 60's version
Rocky and Bullwinkle
The older version of Woody Woodpecker
Simpsons
Beavis and Butthead
Foghorn Leghorn
Daffy Duck
Bugs Bunny
Cow and Chicken
Ren and Stimpy

All I've got to say is:

Ghost Busters.

How could I forget........................

The Mighty Heroes? Anybody remember them?
Strong Man
Cuckoo Man
Tornado Man
Rope Man
And Diaper Man

I remember seeing the GhostBusters cartoon when I was like 5 years old.It was the one with the boogeyman in it,where he'd pop out of little kids closets in the middle of the night.Scared the living shit out of me.

There's no need to fear. Underdog is here!

Thank goodness for this thread! I was a big fan of "Underdog" and I remember his girlfriend Sweet Polly Purebred and his nemesis Simon Bar Sinister, but I cannot recall Simon Bar Sinister's flunky's name. Does anyone know? That'll put to rest something I've been scratching my head about for years!

Damn Gen. Zod, I remember The Mighty Heroes well. I knew all the names, I just couldn't remember their title. I was such a fan that I had a jigsaw puzzle with them on it in the 4th grade, I think the puzzle was all of 12 pieces but I didn't care.

And anybody a fan of Yippee, Yappee, and Yahooey?
Or Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse?

Drew

PS: Simon Bar Sinisters flunky's name was Cad

Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies

Got to go with the 40's Wartime Warner Cartoons in the days of Bob Clampett, early Chuck Jones, and Friz Freleng.

Also the Tex Avery MGM Cartoons of the late 40's /early 50's such as Droopy and the dancing woman with the "horny" wolf.
Classic gags like running off the edge of the film, running from colour film into black and white film with a sign saying "techno-colour ends here!" or a character plucking a hair that has become clogged in the film gate.

Both Tex Avery's stuff and Bob Clampett's stuff featured the famous charcters in their most grotestque shapes.(Bugging Eyes, elongated bodies as they ran out of frame).
Chuck Jones perfected the quick time animation where a character literally jumped from one place to another in one motion. A Classic example of this is a cartoon called "The Dover Boys at Pimento University"🙂

Tklduo-drew, thank you! Man, I can finally sleep now! Cad. What an odd name. I also loved "Go Go Gophers" and "The World Of Commander McBragg". You don't see those around much anymore. "Tennessee Tuxedo", too.
