So this site is for adults...

After surviving a few months, some of my *hard earned* rank boosters here have been endowed by my emergence at the "Self Referential Thread." (Wuv the place and its militias). :bunny: 😱

I came here without any premonition of its order and mayhem, assuming it's not a Tickling University either. But I learned trivia and pondered on acceptable opinions. I was a beneficiary of countless treasures (digital stuff) and formulae expressed in blah. I learned different flavors in every "cup of tea" laid before me. Thank you, folks.

Attitudes and different perspectives push and shove to the surface, creating the site's unique format. Whether they are amusing, smart or lame, there's nothing to worry, after all, some automated self-provoked league of flamers can PWN and take care of things.

Behind the threads are human beings...As of 13-year olds pretending to be 30's (*&^%$#@)...Take your time, but it may have side-effects. This thread hopefully, can bridge the gap (if there is any). :ranty:

So folks, how do you find your stay here at TMF? How did it help in expressing your sexual orientation?

The beginning of the stay is fine. Some funny people, some really childish, some really clever, some THAT silly, but i try to deal with all, i mean it's not cause a person disagrees with me that i'm going to say : ok i'm not talking to you anymore ! It is a nice site, mixed with variety of folkies, we have to deal with.
Stay by those you like the most & ignore others, there's still a life apart the net.

Imagine a site when everyone agrees on everything, would be plain boring & besides it's impossible.

about the sexual orientation : well i think i'll stay straight & i also think that i'm into foot fetish, bondage & tickling as well, not so sure though 🙂

I've found a somewhat radical inconsistency with regards to the TMF culture. We're supposed to be a "flame free" forum. The forum administrators go to considerable efforts to regulate the tone of any discussion. They delete unpalatable comments, and close threads that are deemed to have "served their purpose." From what I read, most here wouldn't want to have it any other way. We're about civilized discussion after all, not name-calling and insult contests...right?

So how is it that the most popular threads...those that get the most responses in the shortest amount of time....are the ones where people get upset, angry, outraged, and even vicious? Game Girl's departure thread is a perfect example.

The only explanation I can offer is that most of us derive more entertainment from conflict then we're prepared to admit. I don't see this as anything about which to be ashamed or embarrassed. Look at how popular contact sports are. Look at how the best TV shows are based around conflict. Even the reality shows are about competition, driving out the weaker contestents, etc. Why would it be any different here on the TMF, which is more or less a interactive TV show?

This more than anything else, is why I've chosen to post topics that are controversial, and offer viewpoints that may likely upset some. This idea of a forum in which there is no conflict, just people sharing ideas and experiences is a recipe for good long snooze. We need excitement and conflict occasionally if this place is going to remain interesting.

What drew said. I enjoy the variety of "forums", putting in my 2 cents here & there. It's a way to get 2 know each other, aside from the tickling part. That's what makes being here fun for me.

Agreed.

I used to be a much more prominent member of the forum, posting in the Politics and Religion Forum, spending hours a night in chat, and debating with anyone who attacked me, or disagreed with me. I've now become more stoic to the goings on here, and don't let things upset me as much. I'm not here nearly as much as I used to be, as I'm now busying myself with other activities and people online.

I used to think this forum was the greatest place on earth. That was during a time when I was still getting over the loss of a very close friend, and needed a place to be. Now, I've become more realistic. The forum is what it is. I would not lower myself to post negative threads attacking anyone here, or the forum itself. To do so would be wrong, would get me banned, and would serve no purpose. How I see it is this: This is a forum where people who share a common interest gather. It has its very good people, and its not so good ones. As time has gone on, I've tried to distance myself from some of the problems. I used to complain about every negative thing that was posted about me. Now, I've become more realistic. The mods arent going to ban every person I dont like, just because they say something I disagree with, and they arent going to ban me, because, for example, I disagree with John Smith. So, the ignore button has become a very useful tool for me. I still come here to chat with people who I consider friends, and who I hope consider me a friend, to write stories, and to read posts.

I will say this: There are some very, very good people who are members of this forum. If you can be fortunate enough to chat with those people, you can have a positive experience here. I hope you are able to do that. If so, you will find this place a good place to be.

Mitch

One final point: I do credit this forum for allowing me to express my tickling interest. It was very positive to find a site where I was able to find people who shared similar interests. I am grateful for that, in spite of whatever else has happened to me through the years I've been here,

So folks, how do you find your stay here at TMF?

I'm one of the senior citizens here i suppose,i turn 53 next month.I have friends here of all ages, races, poltical beliefs and sexual orintation.I love the place, and most of the people. My stay has been just fine thank you. 😀

Hmmm...by senior members, do you mean "old schoolers" like me, or chronological age? :ermm: I'm guessing it's more of the first one...

I know I've had a blast for the most part~arrived with a pretty big splash and the momentum never really let up~met some AMAZING people, although a lot of chaos at work, the holidays. etc. have kept me a lot quieter than usual these days. Yeah, there are some a-holes here but it's like life, yes? Most of the posers get weeded out eventually (we're a pretty sharp bunch for the most part.)
In short, again like life--you get out here what you put in.
XOXO

It seems to me that if you are speaking about senior members in a way meaning when they first joined, I suppose that still makes me something of a newbie by the comparison. I have only been here little more than a year but my experiance has been for the most part, one of great positivity. Like many forms for social interaction, you'll find the usual motley crew; the sweet people, the cold-hearted, the jokesters, the uptight ones lacking a sense of humor, the attention *****s and the laid-back, the posers and the people who tell it like it is, I have encountered all of these people and more in my brief stay here. I must say thankfully however, that despite a few rotten apples, I have enjoyed immensely making new friends and having a chance to explore and relate to other like-minded people about my fetish. I have made friends here that I speak too off the forums, some that have become very dear to me. Other people I have wanted to slam into a brick wall, but as I said, for the most part, I enjoy the community here very much and hope to stay for as long as I am wanted.

As for how the TMF has helped me express my sexual orientation, aside from offering the occasional M/M video clip/artwork piece/story that I enjoy, that part is really only a small fraction of how I express my sexuality. I won't lie, I can develop a very volatile temper when it comes to things like racism and homophobia. To me, there is nothing more disgusting than a bigot (except perhaps for child molesters, but that's a whole other kettle of fish) and in the past here, I have become offended and lashed out at some who have expressed less-than positive attitudes regarding our small gay community on the forum. I have since learned to control my temper and remember that even though it may be ignorant of the people that do make snide remarks about homosexuals (which thankfully there are very few here, I love the open-mindedness of this forum) that it doesn't really affect me and to let some of that anger go. I must thank another gay member here for talking to me about that some time ago and realizing that petty anger is never worth losing friends over. So in a way, the TMF has helped me become a more mellow, less likely to look for a fight gay man, both on this site and off the forum which I appreciate. 🙂

As one of the senior citizens, it's great to have you here, Bohemianne. 😀

The TMF was the first place where I openly expressed in writing all of my F/m activities and fantasies. :xpulcy:

So folks, how do you find your stay here at TMF? How did it help in expressing your sexual orientation?

Hmmm. I've been coming here for a little while now and I would say that I enjoy the forum quite a bit. Generally I just lurk in the background... log in, look for the things I find interesting and be on my way until next time. That being the case I've never had a 'negative' experience with any of my fellow users. At times I'll go through a phase where I'm more likely to contribute by responding to threads (such as this one) or by posting a picture that I feel is worth sharing or something.

Mostly I'm just shy and self conscious and keep to myself though.. which brings me to the next part. I'm fairly confident that I'm straight.. I like women more than I like men and I don't have any interest in changing that inclination or exploring other options. Beyond that I'm still pretty confused though 😉 On that note, I'll go back to being quiet before I offer too much information.

Overall I'd say this is a pleasant forum and I'll continue to visit for the foreseeable future 🙂
