Happy Birthday, Ringo! Rock on, and I don't mean in a rocking chair.

Yes. Happy Birthday Ringo. Wish John and George were still alive. Would have loved a Beatles reunion. Oh well. Happy Birthday Ringo Starr. Good job Featherfingers.

Thanks, TF4U! I was going to post this earlier this morning but I felt bad about what happened in London... I wasn't sure if posting something upbeat like Ringo's birthday would be considered disrespectful. I decided that staying focused on the negative can't be good for anyone.

What a sad thing for Ringo to have to remember on his 66th birthday next year.

Ringo is so cool! I get a such a kick out of his most recent live compliation when he shouts to the audience....

"WHAT'S MY NAME??"

And after the crowd shouts his name, he responds:

"I love that bit...", or "Just in case any of you forgot..."

Ringo Starr...right place, right time, right group. Not the greatest drummer in the world, more of a pioneer, IMO. I liked how he knew not clutter a song with too much drum work. And he can sing. I know there are some people out there who don't like his voice, but I do, I think he has a good voice. But I'm not so sure on his acting abilities, i.e.- "Caveman"...

Cheers Ringo!

Happy Birthday, Ringo. I love the Beatles! My, how time flies, I cant believe that old Rich Starkey is 65 today. Then again, it 's hard to believe that the Beatles have been split for 35 years. It was one of the saddest events in showbiz history when they split. Anyway, Happy 65th to Ringo!

If you have never seen the tribute concert to George Harrison (Eric Clapton was the music director for this event), it's something to buy or rent (or even get from your public library). It's a fabulous concert, and Ringo's two songs (Honey Don't and Photograph) are two of the highlights. McCartney's even better. The concert took place on the one year anniversary of Harrison's death, so it's not that old.

I bought the CD and DVD almost as soon as they were released! I love 'em both. The concert featured many greats from the 1960s and 70s... Ringo, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker (of Procol Harum fame), Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Jeff Lynne (of ELO fame) and Billy Preston. A British singer named Joe Brown sang what became one of my favorite songs from the concert... "I'll See You In My Dreams." Anoushka Shankar (Ravi's daughter and Norah Jones' sister) performed beautiful Indian music on her sitar. I highly recommend both the CD and DVD.
