and saw Christmas decorations at BJ's. What the hell it's still September?!

They get earlier every year, don't they? I'm still waiting for the big 4th of July Christmas sale. 😛

I'd have thrown up. I don't even want to hear about christmas until November.

Yeah. Fiber optic trees at BJ's right next to the Thanksgiving stuff with a dash of Halloween.

Further proof that Madison Ave and the like are pure evil!

Decorations are one thing. Ludicrous, yes, but...

Commercials? In September? Really?!

I'm speechless...

Let me splash a bucket of cold water on those who have not worked retail:
The Christmas Season officially begins the first week of October. Always has.
Last year, we took down the halloween costumes a week prior to halloween to set up Christmas stuff!

Hell, here in the Detroit area, we have TWO radio stations that play Christmas music 24/7 starting midnight of October 31st/November 1st! Thats halloween night people!!!

Due to the sucky economy this year, I suspect we will all be bombarded with Christmas stuff earlier this year. It's all about the money...

Darn beat me to it! LOL, I can't say if I have ever seen a commercial this early though. However, even after working retail since I was 16 yrs old, I would be like WTF it's too early! lol. But, I suspect Walmart to have theirs up soon as well.

Eventually, Halloween and Thanksgiving will just be swallowed up by Christmas! We'll have 3 months of Christmas songs, commercials, newspaper adds, tv specials, etc.

Not for any religious reasons, just greedy retailors. Just watch...

Just went into Wal-Mart. In the Garden Center, you can already see the Christmas stuff overtaking the sold-out Halloween inventory.

Hallow-Thanks-mas?

Yes, it is coming.

Unless Hallmark gets mad because it combines too many of their holiday cards and hurts sales.

Santa Claus must be turning over in his grave!:manicd:

Don't even go there with Hallmark! They made up a friggin' holiday called "Sweetest Day" here in Michigan, right next to my birthday even! I can't remember how many times I got burned by that fake "holiday" from some chick I was seeing because I didn't get her stuff for my birthday! :yowzer:

Fuckin' Hallmark.

When I was a kid, Christmas ads didn't appear until the week before Thanksgiving. Later, they appeared just after Halloween.

In September?

In the future, right after July 4 maybe. 😱

I worked retail too. While the Xmas stuff was in the back room it didn't see the light of day in September. Thank God I am done with retail.

I agree with most everyone here...a personal timeline from me.

When I was between the ages of 3-13 Nothing ever came out until Dec. 1st.

About 13-18 It was right after Thanksgiving.

From 19-26 they started about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving.

From 27-32 Right after Halloween.

The last few years it has been creeping in a few weeks before Halloween.

And now, at 36....here it is. Were coming full circle...Christmas before Oct. 1st.

WOW.

By the time Im 40, it will be right after 4th of July.

I'm prepared to do ANYTHING to prevent retailers from putting out their Christmas shit out too early...
