"Scene" Music?

The reason this isn't in GenDis is 'cus it touches base on *gasp* Tickling..amongst others.. (BDSM bein' a thisclose second.)

When scenein' whether with lovers or friends.. If you play music..What do you play to set the tone? If it's hardcore/playful/etc.

Two songs that keep poppin' into my twisted little mind are

I can't say too much as fact, given that most of my play to date hasn't really involved music. However, I'll take my best guess here 😉

Heavier music, such as Rammstein, would probably be more appropriate for more intense scenes. Electronic music could also work well - the repetitive nature of such music lends itself to 'trancelike' states.

As for more playful scenes? I can't really say. Ultimately, it depends on the musical tastes of the people involved.

I don't play music during during a scene, but there are some songs I sent my rhythm/headspace to for various play or activities.

For Doming someone in a scene:
Slipknot - Before I Forget
Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
Igor Stravinsky (Composer) - The Firebird Suite

For Wrestling or combat, which is a similar headspace:
Butthole Surfers - Who Was In My Room Last Night
Rancid - David Courtney
Alexisonfire - Boiled Frogs

Not exactly classic metal or everyone's taste, but they work. (Especially Who Was In My Room Last Night for some reason...)

Now this is a topic!

I just had to get in on this, in spite of my lurker nature. I have a few songs I like for "playtime", a few of which have already been mentioned here (Rammstein does do well with the dirty stuffs)...

To the growing list of Rammstein, I have to add "Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen?!" for the simple fact that it is all about rough sex (as are many of their other songs) with lyrics exclaming "Sex est einer schlact! Liebe est krieg!" which roughly translated equals "Sex is a battle! Love is war!" ...So true, so true. x3

But for the lighter, more touchy feely side of me, I have to say I love trance/techno... They come with nice 1 2 beats that set a great "rhythm"; and soft lyrics that ring of sexual tones. Among my favorites are many a song by a Japanese artist named Ayumi Hamasaki... I've included a couple in this posting...

And that would be my -rare- two cents on this matter. I must say, Crystal, you're making quite a splash in the community. You're awesome. <3

Usually, when I'm playing music during a scene I tend towards EBM and industrial, with some rock thrown in for good measure. That's mainly what they play in the clubs anyway, but if I was picking personal favorites, these would be on the list.

I have a hard enough time posting here when there's noise.

Before I get to business I always play "The Exquisite Machinery of Torture" by Meshuggah, followed by the conceptual masterpiece album "The Return of Bruno" by Bruce Willis. I find that the extreme contrast between these two artists really sets the stage and puts me in a yippie-kay-yay kind of mood.
