Ok, so this might be a bit of a rambling one. I was staying with some friends a couple of weeks ago, and in their drawing room I saw a sculpture of Leda and the Swan. If you haven't read the myth, its a sculpture of when Zeus in the form of a swan has sex with the woman Leda. It was not a subtle depiction.
Anyway, this made me think of how much art in sculpture especially, but also in painting, is considered acceptable and admirable, but would be called pornographic in another form. I know that's not a new thought, but I wondered if tickling or any other fetishes were depicted in such a way? I don't think the Romans or Greeks were that into tying back toes and getting the feathers out, but I'm no classicist...
So, have any of you seen anything like that?
