The problem is showing respect. Period.

Sadly, the internet makes it easy to be anonymous if you want to be, and as such, it can make people feel that they can get away with anything. It's like the cloak of anonymity also removes all culpability from the user (or at least in their mind).

I honestly can't see a time when users don't get other persistent users trying to contact them all the time. Just be thankful you don't get death threats like I do on tmf! :laughing:

The question "How ticklish are you?" are more important than to say "hey, how are you?". Why can't these idiots understand that if they threat these girls like NORMAL humans from the begining, it's a better chance to acculy get to know em. As Miss Val mentioned, curtailing one's messaging abilities can significantly reduce the raw number of unsolicited PMs.
Also, somebody suggested choosing genderless avatars and names, so potential stalkers cannot take pot-shots at self-advertised female users.

Those are a rather undesirable and offensive workarounds, for some users, and imply mods cannot make a forum a safe community for people to meet and mingle.

I would like to stress, an internet forum is never a safe community, no matter how much pre-emptive screening we do on users to stave off potential threats.

Just be thankful you don't get death threats like I do on tmf! :laughing:

Given my not wholly stable state of mind, it is debatable who would survive the encounter.
Most users worldwide can be safe...
Cannot make promises on Europe, though.

one of the things i observed is that you said "by getting this out in the open" when most of the delirious nonsense occurs under the radar so to speak

and despite such an effort, people who do this are just going to keep finding trickier ways to do what they do, or the new guys who don't think straight are going to do it as well

I've been to the website frequently that he's imitating. A section in it where all of the funny, odd things are is called /b/. Those who frequent it, stay, or post a lot are /b/tards. He does it well, I will say that much.

But yeah, I've been saying that there's a reason why female lees are somewhat scarce, and that's cuz of desperate male sub-humans who can't keep it in their pants. If it was up to me, they'd all be wearing chastity belts...figuratively AND literally.

The only time I really message is when I see someone online, or want to get in contact with them. In other communities I am involved in, things going silent is a bad sign. Even if someone is depressed or the like, I would like to help, even though these are people I have only talked to briefly. Always seemed like a nice thing to do.

I can understand the qualms Sammi, or TKLVR18, or any number of people who put themselves out there or post frequently though, and apologize for those who simply can not help themselves.

Personally, I have been messaged and had conversations with lees who simply could not spell, which is a major blow in a text based conversation.

I ease into it a little bit. It isn't the basis of the conversation. Like, if it comes up or I ask questions, I am fine with providing responses and answers the same.

But it is not something I think about on a constant basis, nor do I feel the need to bludgeon those that share this somehow to make them feel uncomfortable.
