Maybe I'm just a tad cynical after the remake after remake after remake at the cinema these days, but in all fairness to these films, can we not wait until after we've seen the film to decide whether or not it's good? One picture tells absolutely nothing.

It's interesting to see Hollywood remake some good stuff from the old days while taking advantage of new special effects, makeup, etc. I have no idea what to think from just one picture, but from the stuff I DID see, I have a feeling that the Nightmare on Elm Street remake is going to be a lot more serious, sick, and twisted, and less funny with not so many Freddy Kreuger witty comments.

I think the new Freddy Krueger looks more realistic, considering he was burned alive, and while I would rather they stuck with Robert Englund, if they had to choose someone else, the guy that played Rorschach isn't the worst choice.

I certainly am not interested in how he looks as much as I am the fact he talks! I hate remakes first of all. Horror movies seem to work however! I will see this movie believe me! If this were, Jason or Michael I would have no issues at all! Freddy is a character that has a voice and a charisma. You simply can't duplicate that!

I personally think it looks good.

Yeah, I miss the old Freddy, I should, I've got every single movie he's been in on DVD AND VHS somewhere around this house.


But the bottom line is, he was too funny. It was done right, but it was still too funny.

Give him a bad ass look like the picture in the original post, give him some funny dialogue , and THAT will be scary in an apropriate way for a horror movie.
