so what's up for your holiday weekend?

Mine started yesterday at 5 pm. Woo hoo! I had a lovely lunch date today w/a now local member from the UK (so cute!) I'm having breakfast tomorrow with my partner in crime at work and his lovely wife Jasmine. The neighborhood is notoriously awful and dangerous, southside, I never go there but the food is so legendary Guy Fieri did a segment on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives...I can't wait!

Much of the weekend will be devoted to my continuous training of the world's most beautiful water rescue pup. Those of you who've been round for awhile know my passion for this~baby dog is only 3 years old now but he is SUCH a strong swimmer and the rapids here are deadly. Police chief and fire captain want him to get one more year training under his belt before we send him out in the field and I couldn't be a prouder Mama.

Other than that, not much else is planned. I'm invited to a couple bbqs but they're out of town and especially on the holidays, I'm not much of a traveller. Hospital employee and all that~I'll just wait for Tuesday morning when all the dumbasses who f'ed up come thru my ER and I get stuck trying to fix all their funding. Ugh.

Well first tomorrow morning I will be driving to North Carolina to take my kids to be with mom for the summer, maybe longer.
Then Ill have my radio show *SHAMELESS PLUG* Robace Radio on at 11pm EDT.
After that I will chill on Sunday and rearrange my house and maybe catch a movie. Monday morning I will be traveling to a near-by military base for the usual BBQ that I help host with families of those serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ill be cooking, then a quick speech, then serving, then a get together with all the children and giving out toys that I buy with donations from a lot of great friends and some businesses that I work with. I know that will cheer me right up. Then Monday evening I will be stopping by my local VFW to spend some time with more vets, having another cookout, swapping stories and doing what I can for my fellow vets.
There is no better way that I can think of for a military vet like me than to spend Memorial Day giving to those that will forever be my brothers and sisters and in arms, and being with those who have the "been there and done shirt", many of them paid a higher price than I.

We're taking some time to relax today after doing a bunch of yardwork yeserday. Tomorrow, we're going to enjoy just hanging out with the Venrays. Monday, we'll likely be doing more yard work.

And the best part is that we'll need very little gas to do all that! $4.21 for regular. Get real!

Nothing Much but being on computer,being outside on patio enjoying the sunny weather ,missing my family and spending all day sunday and monday by myself as my roommates are going out of town for a few days to a sibling of theirs graduation

Mow my yard, rototill Mom's garden, then it's grilling put and drinking beer for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. Then it's hangover Monday and back to work Tuesday.

Tomorrow I will go to the beach at Coney Island to have my first Nathan's Famous hot dog of the season, see the Sideshow by the Seashore, and observe the barefoot young women. 😀
