As I predicted, we didn't win. The draw is also a bad result, as it leaves England and Montenegro 6 points ahead... It would be a miracle if we manage a playoff spot, I dare say we are out of he competition again 🙁 The game itself wasn't very interesting too, we were very poor up front, but the defence and goalkeeper were solid, which gives me some hope for the future 🙂

That was the most entertaining and exciting friendly I've ever seen! Arg just put so much pressure on the US the first half...pretty much made a clinic out of it.

Tim Howard was a beast, def his best performance ever as a US goalkeeper.

I don't get too excited over results in friendly because they are what they are...pretty much a glorified scrimmage..but the quality in the game was the best i've ever seen in a friendly.

I guess you should have quoted Johnny lea, not me, but anyway 😀 I didn't see the England-Wales game, so I can't comment on it. But I can't wait until the 2nd of September, when England are coming to play here. It's going to legen-wait for it-dary 😀 If you decide to come to the game, drop a line and we'll drink some beer and I'll show you around. But that's in 5 months, so you have quite some time to think about it 🙂

Caught the highlights of this and Howard made some great saves, I thought he was real unlucky with the Argentina goal because it was a wonderful reflex save to begin with. Argentina looked killer though with some of their combinations, the US did a good job to get a draw.

Nah I wasn't, pretty much men against boys on the day, it's the reality of where Wales as a nation are at right now. I agree in a few years theres lots to be optimistic about it's just hanging in there at the moment.

I'm sure Me40 can relate with Bulgaria right now was well.

As far as football is concerned, some interesting results in the friendly games yesterday. We beat Cyprus, and we showed some good stuff. Getting better and better in defence, our reserve goalkeeper played well too, Martin Petrov scored( he and the other Petrov from Villa are our best players, no doubt about that). We still can't find a good striker after Berbatov retired, and that seems to be a problem. Sadly, I can't see anyone even near his quality, but time will tell.

As for England, a draw against Ghana... A bit of a surprise for me, but on the other hand Ghana are not a bad side at all. And Germany lost to Australia, which made me very happy (nothing against Germans, I just don't like their team). 😀

Dudes, Real Madrid smashed Spurs yesterday, kind of a surprise really, but how silly is Peter Crouch... And what about Inter, losing 2:5 at home to Schalke 04? Again, Chivu got a red card, as he did against Milan on Saturday. All in all, the Germans and Real are through to the semi-finals, but today is the day. Red devils, come on!!! And I hope Berbatov plays today, he hasn't been in the starting 11 for quite some time now...

me4o, I actually wasnt surprised at Madrid putting 4 past spurs, but I was surprised that they spurs didn't score. Regardless Spurs have done better than anyone expected this season.

Chelsea - Man United game is having its moments, but Torres really needs to start banging in some goals, since he's not looking like good value on that £50m Chelsea spent on him.

The united and Chelsea wasn't great from what I saw but I'd bet on United to go through. A Real Madrid Vs Bracelona final would be sure as hell interesting and a delight to watch! Shatkar didn't stand a hope in hell against Barca tonight. Tickleguy you'll be happy!

Unfortuantly Berbatov was on the bench tonight me40 and didn't get much of a run out. Probably more to do with tactics.

Real Madrid-Barcelona can't play in the final, they are playing in the semi-finals. But even better, there will be two games, insted of just one.

As far as Berbatov is concerned, I excpected he might be on the bench again, but hoped he would play. 12 minutes is far from enough though, but he'll get his chance again, as Rooney is suspended for two Premiership games. I like Hernandez, he's a good player, but come on- Berba is just better. And far more experienced, as a matter of fact. Javier didn't have a single shot on goal for the almost 80 minutes he was on the pitch, which ain't a good record for a striker. And about the game- 100% penalty for a foul by Evra against Ramires, ref didn't see it though.

I can't wait until next week, I'm sure the second leg will be awesome 🙂

Oh yes, I was happy after yesterday. Now it looks like Barca will play Real Madrid in the semifinals, that will mean 3 games in the matter of 3 weeks...doesn't get any better than that.

Its looking a bit tits up for the Blades Zero! We have just about scraped through for another season mate (The Rams) but we havent done much better than your lot really. Another written off season, thumped by Forest (home and away) beaten by non league Crawley in the Cup, a run of nine games without a win, our best player fucks off to sweaty sock land for next to nothing, a squad of players none of whom are capable playing more than three games without contracting an injury that puts them out of action for most of the season, and an endless procession of "loan players" who are mostly so shit they cant get a game at their own club.......aye its been a bloody great season.

Unlucky for Spurs tonight, they had a good go in all fairness. Agree with Gomes, he's a wonderful shot stopper usually, it's when he's trying to meet set pieces or crosses when he worries you most. Was surprised to see him let one in from that situation.

I can't agree with you that Berba is lazy, just check out his statistics for distance covered in every game. And even he doesn't run like a madman, it's his touch and his vision that is important. As I said before, Javier is a good player, but he is still too young and has to learn a lot. And how lucky is this guy- starting with his goal against Chelsea for the Community Shield, reaching to the goal on Tuesday, when he almost missed it. 🙂

I'm not saying hes a lazy player all the time, hes not as bad as he used to be especially since he moved to United. But he does still have the odd game where he doesn't seem too interested. He didn't have the best of games today either.

I can't wait 🙂 Some epic games ahead, not only for the title, but also the relegation battle is pretty intense too. And lets not forget the final between Porto and Braga, as it seems it will be quite a match. I'd put my money on Porto though, Falcao is simply amazing. As far as United-Barcelona, my favourite two teams outside Bulgaria, Barca are probably a bit better, but I'll cheer for the "Devils" because of Berbatov. He deserves to win the CL, having lost two finals already 🙂
