omfg... I think I might...![]()
My husband had his done, and he's thinking about doing it again. He said if anything it was more sensitive afterward.
Hmm that is what I have been hearing lately! Perhaps my ex is just defective or somethinggg.
Haha, well my husband is Mistress Aura's son so maybe sensitive nipples run in the family. LOL!
HISTORY OF NIPPLE PIERCING
Roman Centurions wore leather armour breast plates which were shaped to fit the body and rings were sometimes placed in these breastplates where the nipples appeared to be, the rings were used to hang a cape from. This has led to the belief by some people that the actual nipples were pierced to hang a cape from, but anybody who has had their nipples pierced would tell you that this would be a very uncomfortable practice.
"In the middle of the 14th century...Many women suddenly wore 'such low necklines that you could see nearly half their breasts', and among the upper classes in the same century, Queen Isabella of Bavaria introduced the 'Garments of the grand neckline', where the dress was open to the navel. This fashion eventually led to the application of rouge to freely displayed nipples, those 'little apples of paradise' and to placing diamond studded rings or small caps on them, even to piercing them and passing gold chains through them decorated with diamonds" "Dreamtime" Hans Peter Duerr
Not to put a damper on the enthusiasm and interest in exploration, but from my own experiences:
1.) Unless the U.S. laws are changing, most piercing/tat places won't do anything if you tell them you took any pre-meds or they can smell you've been drinking. Opens them up to all kinds of lawsuits if they do, because even the release form is null if it's signed while you're under the influence and you come back at them with "buyer's remorse" b/c of what you inked or poked. Again, don't know if that's changed now since I had anything done but it would suck to get yourself prepped and have them pull the plug on the operation at the last second.

2.) As long as you don't mind the pain, you'll be okay, because yah. It hurts. In fact, you'll have quite awhile afterward to continue experiencing it. 😉 😀 Doesn't kill any sensitivity that I ever noticed (I have a lot of that), but for about two weeks afterward, I felt like I had a couple of very angry squirrels clamped on really, really tight.Wearing a very tight sports bra helped some, but forget about sleeping on the stomach and God forbid you accidentally clip the edge of something when you walk past it. Or the pet jumps up on you--talk about the automatic 30-meter pet kick! And then there's the "dried-bodily-fluid-on-the-ring/bar" phenomenon, which is a nifty way to get an unexpected yet solid, hearty scream out of yourself...when you clean the piercings, you wash and betadine them, then rotate the rings back and forth through the piercings. If there is so much as a speck of dried anything on it, it literally feels like you're running broken glass through the opening and voila'! Instant high-C soprano!
1. I was drinking during all of my tattoo sessions. I guess it really depends on the establishment and if they fear said lawsuit.
Maybe it's a state thing. All of my tats and piercing were done in Cali.
We had a "get a tat, save the ta-tas" pink ribbon event a couple months back to raise money for a friend who needs a partial mastectomy. It was about 100 degrees out, I hadn't drank that day but I did the night before. I'm glad I didn't wear a shirt that I loved. I looked like I'd been in a slasher movie by the time I got home.
XOXO

What a great cause!
I never wear a shirt to the tattoo shop; however, I do bring a towel or two.
