Not to put a damper on the enthusiasm and interest in exploration, but from my own experiences:
1.) Unless the U.S. laws are changing, most piercing/tat places won't do anything if you tell them you took any pre-meds or they can smell you've been drinking. Opens them up to all kinds of lawsuits if they do, because even the release form is null if it's signed while you're under the influence and you come back at them with "buyer's remorse" b/c of what you inked or poked. Again, don't know if that's changed now since I had anything done but it would suck to get yourself prepped and have them pull the plug on the operation at the last second.
2.) As long as you don't mind the pain, you'll be okay, because yah. It hurts. In fact, you'll have quite awhile afterward to continue experiencing it.
😉 😀 Doesn't kill any sensitivity that I ever noticed (I have a
lot of that), but for about two weeks afterward, I felt like I had a couple of very angry squirrels clamped on really, really tight.

Wearing a very tight sports bra helped some, but forget about sleeping on the stomach and God forbid you accidentally clip the edge of something when you walk past it. Or the pet jumps up on you--talk about the automatic 30-meter pet kick! And then there's the "dried-bodily-fluid-on-the-ring/bar" phenomenon, which is a nifty way to get an unexpected yet solid, hearty scream out of yourself...when you clean the piercings, you wash and betadine them, then rotate the rings back and forth through the piercings. If there is so much as a speck of dried
anything on it, it literally feels like you're running broken glass through the opening and voila'! Instant high-C soprano!
3.) Really shouldn't touch (except for cleaning) for the months it takes to fully heal, and absolutely NO oral attention from partners until then due to risk of infection. Don't know how vital that is for you, but it's something to consider if you don't want to do without.
All in all, I found it to be a whole lotta pain for just a little bit of pretty that not many people would really see. It does make a statement and I agree, both or none. In mainstream these days, having just one done looks like the person wussed out halfway rather than making a statement--or they lost a bet or something. LOL
Good luck with it--and be careful!
