Spam Calls On Cell Phone?

Do any forum members have problems with getting spam calls on their cell phones, seemingly from the same one or two numbers.. multiple times a day.

Lately.. at least.. two or three times a day, and seemingly more as the days go on.. one or two numbers that I don't know or recognize, keep calling me, and no one is on the other end when I answer. Sometimes, if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer, and the same number merely calls back later that day.

One of the most frequent of these numbers is (201) 918-3115, but there are others. I just reported that number as spam, and found there have been four spam reports on that number by others. The number is a cell phone in Jersey City, NJ, a town where I know no one.

I don't know if the spam report will help with stopping the calls, or at least decrease the frequency. It's extremely annoying.

Yeah. If I do not recognize the number,I let it ring. If it is a spam call,they will not leave a message.

Thanks. Most of the time, I do let it ring. I picked up once or twice.

One number that called me was reported by other people as spam. Another one is supposedly "Customer service from a bank", but people commenting on the second number said it was weird as well.

You should be able to block unwanted in-coming calls from numbers you don't know. I've been doing it for years, and I'm a dummy when it comes to most technology. Just played around with my phone until I figured it out.

I'll have days where I get a call or two, but not usually. A lot of that, I think, has to do with the fact that I don't put down my cell phone number when I sign up for websites / emails / etc. We have an old land line that we use as our "go-to" number, even though it doesn't even connect here.

I refuse to provide a valid phone number for websites, email etc. If that's required information, I'll go elsewhere or do without. Don't really use email anyway.

I use email, but I don't put down my number for sites, etc. I belong to AJC.com to comment on the Braves, etc, but they don't have a phone number for me, just an email address like you have to give when registering here.

I used to get calls like that every so often, so I just disabled my voice mail and now nobody can leave me a voice message. the way I figure it if its important they will call back.

I have a voice mail...I figure if it's important they'll leave a message. Although, I did answer one (my tv gave it away) and I told them I was on the no call list.....they hung up quick.

You can now block SPAM calls on your cell phone.

There is a "Do Not Call List" for cell phones now.

Well, I just tried registering the phone number, and it wouldn't let me. Additionally, I got a red warning sign from Avast saying about a "Suspicious File Blocked", so I have no clue what the hell is going on.

Sorry to bump this year plus old thread..

I must never have registered my cell phone for the Do Not Call list, because., today, when I needed peace to figure out the mess I'm going through with work.. I must have gotten at least.. ten spam calls.

This time.. I went to the Do Not Call list, and.. I think.. registered it in the right way. I usually keep my phone on 24-7 except when I watch Mr Jim Gardner, but, decided to turn it off.. at least for a while.. to have quiet.

Hopefully, the spam calls will stop. The phone ringing with these same numbers every few minutes, is driving me crazy.

If it's the same few numbers, add them to your contacts and give them a custom ringtone of "silent."
