Friday afternoon, after two days of extreme high temperatures, southern and west central Minnesota was hit by an extremely severe storm that produced hurricane like winds, hail and heavy rain, and several tornadoes. Several communities including mine lost power and sustained massive damage. Some were lucky to have only tree damage. Others weren't with buildings and homes destroyed.

My town regained power Saturday night after about 26 hours with no power. A neighboring town regained power yesterday. But several communities still remain with no power.

The same storm that hit Minnesota also hit western Wisconsin.

wow glad u ok and got ya power back

Glad to hear that things are up and running. Visit my Gettysburg Reenactment thread.

Oh lord, that's terrible. I'm glad you are okay. :twohugs:

Hit us in Southwestern Ontario, too. It was bonkers. Trees and branches strewn all over the place.

Oh my 🙁. Glad you're ok (you too, LD 🙂 ). We have some bad weather headed here today...thunderstorm watch scrolling across the tv, actually. I hope it doesn't turn into something like those storms :/...

That's awful, Nemesis. 🙁
I"m very glad that you are OK and have your power back. :grouphug:

We went through something similar in 2008 in Cincinnati. Some places were without power for a week. We were lucky that temperatures were moderate. Gas and other supplies were in short supply. I'm glad you got your power back and that you are unharmed! I hope the rest of your community recovers quickly - these kind of disasters are horrific 🙁

Minnesota is a awesome place. But we cannot predict the storm. It has always been a painful experience for all.

I feel your pain. After Rita in 05, we were without power for 7 days.

Our area has been hit by 12 tornadoes this year, so power outages are becoming a common thing.
