Kanji. Japanese or Chinese symbol for "tickle." Or ... "ticklish," depending on what you want out there. 😉 Double and triple-check it before you ink yourself, obviously. But that would be eyecatching and mysterious (to some -- some would know what it meant because it's a word). And if someone asks ... what a great conversation starter 🙂

Someone put forward the idea of a neuron tree in a tattoo thread a while back. I thought it was an interesting take on the whole sensation aspect associated with tickling. Kinda mysterious too.

I think that is an awesome idea! But I still think the Universal BDSM symbol contrasted with the tickling symbol is simply the most brilliant symbol here. If I am ever going to get a tattoo then there is a good chance that it will be this one!

I would just add, that while I like it, I would simplify it a little more graphically and make sure it works in just B&W first, before adding colors.

I get that, but only because you explained it. It's not more about, for me, why we are ticklish, more the fact that we love tickling.

The problem with duel meaning stealth is that they also work in reverse and may have you barking up the wrong tree.

Sexy tattoo, ladies! Now, never been one to seriously consider ink, but I would imagine we'd need one a little more (how you say) masculine.

Personally I'd go with the dendritic neuron idea posted earlier. I think it can tweaked with sharp, jagged angles to simulate electricity... or wispy tips to resemble feathers...

As for color, I like purple (pink for ladies if they please).

Finally, for location, I would place it somewhere that can easily be exposed (forearm, outer shoulder)... I keep thinking of military/spy dramas where the protagonist approaches a character, and shows off the ink to show they're friendlys...

Interesting question... I was playing around with some ideas and made a few (bad) sketches.

At first I thought about basing a graphic on an exclamation point, to convey the excitement of a tickle. Maybe you could make it look like the top part of it is tickling the dot at the bottom, somehow... maybe the dot could have a smile on it, and there could be little marks around it to indicate motion, or sweat drops coming off it... something like this:

Then I thought maybe the top part could look more like a finger coming down to tickle the dot. Also, maybe the dot could look like the planet Earth (although that might be a bit complicated)

Then I started to redraw the top part, and I realized that a simple drawing of a finger with a fingernail, also could kind of look like a laughing face, especially if you add a few lines at the top that could either be eyes and eyebrows for a face, or... IDK... knuckle wrinkles or hairs for a tickling finger or a tickled toe!

Just a few ideas off the top of my head, maybe you can make something good out of them...
