The Patriots released the 25-year-old Tebow on Saturday, deciding to carry just two QBs on their final 53-man roster. What the decision says is that Tebow didn't show enough of a reason for the Patriots to bother with him. They'd rather have a backup at some other position.

For Tebow, this is a major setback and one without an obvious solution.

This might be it for him in the NFL – a startling turn of events considering it was January 2012 when, after being installed the starter as the Broncos turned their season around and charged into the playoffs, he connected on an 80-yard touchdown pass for an overtime victory over Pittsburgh.

Personally I don't think Tebow is a bad Qb, he just has to find the right team. IMO...the Vikings should pick him up. He would be worlds better than Flippin Ponder...

I was watching "Inside the NFL" the day Tebow was released. A question was raised to the panel if Tebow has a future in the NFL. Almost unanimous in their reply was "yes, but not at the quarterback position".

KC should pick him up for a TE. I think he's going to be swiped up by the Canadian Airlift (CFL).

Sadly the biggest problem Tebow has is the theatrics that follows him around. I think he is a very talented player and with some practice could be a pretty good QB. I think many teams will pass on him though to avoid the theater that follows him and tends to disrupt a team as a whole.

I'm tired of Tebow. Every supporter claims "with practice", yet fail to acknowledge he is a horrific practice player. He doesn't have the mechanics to be a QB. Allegedly the ultimate team guy, yet refuses to switch positions. Its his dream to be an NFL QB; news flash jackass hundreds of thousands share that same dream. The rest of us accept our fates. He's a sideshow who while a great college player, is nothing but a flash in the pan has been NFL player.

And before anyone says he deserves to be a QB, tell that to former Cornhusker QB great Eric Crouch!

Okay so this is the first time I've noticed that there's a sports section on here. I love a good Tebow debate.

Many people say that Tebow is not an NFL QB. I completely agree, but with the caveat of by the current prevailing NFL standards. When he does get a shot to do what he does best, i.e. play schoolyard ball, he can win games. The problem is, everyone wants to fit him into their "system". Aside from his first few games, he's always been forced into game plans that "highlight his strengths", usually with running/option plays on 1st and 2nd downs, and 3rd-and-long throws deep down the field. I don't care how good you are, your completion % is obviously going to take a hit when you are never allowed to get into a rhythm and the defense knows exactly when you're going to throw it and when you're going to run.

Of course, we've all seen Tebow make wild throws that are 5 yds or more off of his receivers. I believe this is partially a consequence of him trying to fit into the current mold of the NFL QB (maneuvering in the pocket), and attempting to change his mechanics. But the fact remains, he's shown time and again that he can make plays when they count.
