The 2010 NHL Playoffs

Canadiens and Flyers are rallying in their series. It's true that you cannot count someone out in the Stanley Cup race. I stand by my Bruins, but the boys need to pick it up something fierce to fight the momentum the Flyers have now after such a humiliating display on home ice.

NHL Current situation...Pittsburgh 3 Montreal 3...Boston 3 Philadelphia 2... Chicago 3 Vancouver 2... San Jose Sharks eliminate Detroit 4 -1... I am pulling for Montreal solely because of their underdog status... My Five all-time favorite players... Mario Lemieux... Scott Stevens... Clark Gilles...Martin Brodeur...Mark Messier.

I went nuts last night watching the Flyers game! We are back in Philly for the next game and the city will be a mad house. Hopefully they can keep up the momentum! LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!!!

would love to see the underdogs pull it out this year! and for the Habs to rise from the ashes of 8th place and slay both giants in the east would be fucking epic!! looking forward to game 7!

Let's Go Penguins!!!!!!!!

I can't believe the Pens didn't put the Habs away...but game 7's are always fun. Yeah, I'm 40 minutes from Montreal and love the city...but I gotta pull for the Penguins. It's funny, as much as I'm not a Steelers fan, I AM a Penguins fan. Go figure. Plus...with my beloved Devils once again being top-seeded and then blowing it in the first round...and the Sabres blowing it as well...

My girlfriend tells me she's going nowhere NEAR downtown Pittsburgh tonight...crazy place. And here in Montreal, tickets to watch the game on big screens in Centre Bell sold out in about an hour.

I'll be watching on the comfort of my own couch and hoping for a great game and a Pittsburgh win!

Bruins/Flyers Game 6 in Philly tonight at 7pm. If the Bruins want to actually play a game of hockey tonight, unlike the abysmal game 5 IN BOSTON for fuck's sake, it should be a good game to watch.

Also, as of last night, its Blackhawks/Sharks in the Western Final, so let's go Chicago.

GO HABS GO!!! LES GLORIEUX!!

This is amazing!! Habs against Bruins for the Conference final... Best ever!!

It was sad to watch the Penguins go down, but you gotta hand it to teams like Montreal and Philly who keep fighting on against the odds. The better team won, and these conference final match-ups should make for some very good hockey. 🙂

Kudos to the Canadiens for defeating both the Caps and the Penguins. Bruins or Flyers, whoever wins, is going to have one hell of a fight going in with that kind of momentum.

On that note: Dear Bruins; Please remember how to play hockey for longer than the last 2 minutes of the third period when you are down 2-0. Learning to shoot and follow the puck would also be keen.

Nevertheless, I have faith in my team, so let's go Bruins!

Bruins played 20 minutes of good hockey, and then let the Flyers come back to win 4-3 in the third period. I'll miss ya boys, you gave me a hell of a season.

Canadiens/Flyers Eastern Finals should start Monday if I'm not mistaken, though now my attenion lies in the West with the Blackhawks.

I'm curious why anyone (outisde of Philly, NY, NJ or DC) would loathe the Pens?

I mean, Kid Crosby is pampered and all, but as a team they're nowhere near as evil or terrible for the league as the Rangers, Flyers, Devils, Red Wings, or any of the Southern teams.

Anyways, playoffs related, disappointed as I am about the Pens early exit (and I am), I've made peace with it.

We won it last year, the Wings, Devils and Caps are all out of it and the B's choked even worse.

I think the Stanley Cup finals will be horrible (Nucks lost, the East team will be a great Cinderella story but horrible for ratings), but I wouldn't mind seeing the Sharks or Hawks take it.

Just so long as it isn't the Flyers...

The Bruins are the disgrace of the NHL. Not only did they blow a 3-0 series lead, but they blew a 3-0 game lead in game 7. Embarrassing and insulting to the fans of hockey.

In the U.S., I think regardless of how the match-up plays out it will be bad for ratings... now if Montreal makes it to the Stanley Cup Final against Chicago, then not only will it be awesome hockey but Canada ratings will be through the roof. The U.S. media makes it clear on a consistent basis they don't understand hockey (save a few) and don't care at all about it, regardless of Crosby and Ovechkin. (more than a few)

Yup, the Bruins blew it, but thats what happens when they go on a kick and then revert to their midseason selves. They played about 22 minutes of good hockey in their last 240 minutes of it... Shame really. Disgrace? No. Depressing as fuck for a true Bruins fan? You bet your ass.

All that aside, I'm looking forward to the finals games, where I pull for the Blackhawks to win it all since my true team couldn't remember how to play for the last 4 games.

Canadiens v Capitals...Great series... You thought you seen it all... Flyers v Bruins...Amazingly awesome!... Flyers 4-3 Canadiens...Sharks 4 -3 Blackhawks.

I think it would both great and hilarious if the Habs ended up going the full seven with the Flyers and then winning Lord Stanley's Cup over the Sharks in the same fashion.

To play four seven-game series' and then rip out the heart of a franchise that is notorious for choking in big games/series'... That would be epic.

Then we could call them the 'Seven Game Canadiens' or 'Cardiac Canadiens' (or give them other snazzy name) to remember them.

And this is coming from someone who hates the Canadiens! (It's not like they need another championship)

2010 NHL Playoffs

This is really interesting. In the western conference finals you have #1 seed San Jose vs. #2 Chicago. But in the eastern conference you have #7 Philly vs. #8 Montreal?

The way the Habs dispatched the President's Trophy winning Washington and then took care of the defending Stanley Cup champs Pittsburgh should make for an interesting Eastern Conference Finals.

I'm not sure who to root for since my Caps lost in the last round.

Four different teams in the conference finals from last year should make for a very exciting finish to the 2010 NHL season.

Definitely could not agree more, good man! Though it is very hard for me to do this with ease, me being a stout Leafs fan, I must forego my pride for a little bit and cheer for Les Glorieux, even if it means cheering for the "Yankees of Hockey" (or are the Yankees the "Habs of Baseball" ? 😛 ) to win it all. I'd think I'd like to see a Montreal/Chicago final - nothing like an Original Six match-up for the Cup - it also might be the best ratings potential.

I'm all for an original six final. Can't remember if Philly is an original six or not. Being from Kansas City, when we had the Blades in the IHL, the Sharks were our parent NHL club, so kinda rooting for them. I like Philly, the Habs, and Chicago also so I can't lose.

My wife on the other hand is a huge Fleury fan, sorry honey!

I like all the teams in the conference final, so I can say without prejiduce that I don't care who wins but it's going to be a great ride!

At this point, Chicago has no excuse for not winning the Cup. Both the Caps and Pens are out and while Philly is good, I don't think they're as good as two teams the Hawks have beaten (the Nucks and Sharks).

So while I would love to see Mary-Ann Hossa lose yet ANOTHER Stanley Cup, I'd rather that the Hawks end their Cup drought, restore glory to their franchise and beat the hated Flyers or f'd out Habs.

congrats to the flyers on a great series win tonight! the finals look to be very interesting and exciting for sure!! can't wait for them to start!
