The American Military Man....

The very one they fight to uphold to give you those rights...

More important question: Why do you CHOOSE to criticise and belittle those that serve? Especially in this place in a thread which was started as a tribute to those who put their lives on the line.

Criticism is one thing. Putting people down is NOT a right of anyone nor is it guaranteed as such by our constitution.

Oh for the love of God.
This was a thread about military personnell.(Part was about that even in youth they are doing their best and working in a system that rarely recognizes the age issue. That among other aspects, but that's the one that I was drawn to!)

Why is it that NO ONE around here can just let something nice be said without being an utter jackass about it???

Someone quick! Post a thread about motherhood so someone can whine and bitch and moan that their mother sucked and that mother's are not what they used to be!

Or maybe...
CARS! A thread about CARS! Oh holiness! Cars! Ruining the environment! Making it hard for drunks to get home at night!

or perhaps...
BABIES!!!! Babies smell sweet, but ARGHHHHHH...the diapers in the landfills! Overpopulation!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not a matter of whether of not you agree with this topic. It wasn't a topic for DISCUSSION!!! It's a thread for recognition of a group of people.

Be intelligent enough to figure that out please! I'm sure even my child could sort out the difference!
😕 :sowrong: 🙄 Jo😕 🙄 😡 😕

Joby you speak with such intelligence..very refreshing indeed.

We should all be proud of the men and woman that fight for us...thats what this is all about.

Well siad Ray Thank you

thanks for the posting ray

i too am a vet. i on the other hand joined at the "old age" of 23, lol.
i actually found it easier than most of the younger kids. i understood a lot of the reasoning for what was happening, during training. still didn't like it though, lol.
i find it interesting how some folks will take every opportunity to bash something they never were in. too all those i say;"if your ass hasn't been in the grass, shut the hell up". don't talk about something you don't have first hand knowledge of!

You're just hoping he'd send me back your way! 😛 Boys, boys, boys. So many ticklees, so little time.

On another note:
Our local community held a "Proud to be an American" rally this weekend. It was rather nice. This is an area with a high concentration of military folks from a variety of branches. That being the case, it's almost taken for granted that folks here think in tune with repsecting those who are willing to serve. It's not mandatory, so yes I say WILLING. Still it was very moving and not something that is seen here daily. I thought about this thread and figured a few folks here needed to see such things as the children (I'm talking under 7 years old) who's parents are overseas in a warzone. To see THEM pledge to the flag, and sing the national anthem :wow: THAT is a sight to make even the most anti-military person realize one simple fact. People are willing to be seperated from loved ones, their own babies, in order to preserve our way of life. Granted, it's not always a perfect manner, or an easy world-pleasing solution that is applied...but nonetheless...It's tough. And it requires being bold in your values and not always backing down to another's point of view. Those kids had more "backbone" than I've seen in many adults (who refuse to take a stand unless it makes everyone pat them on the back). Takes tougher folks than me! God bless our brothers and sisters in uniform and keep 'em safe.
