I remember getting this in the hospital in 1977...

This was one of the coolest comic covers ever...

Now, The Avengers are finally in a blockbuster film...

Shit! i just got a tingle inside looking at that comic book. damn it brings back some good memories.

I'm starting to get worried about The Avengers. There's been so ridiculous build up to it, over several movies.

Then to throw a nasty lemon into the mix, the second movie that started it all off, The Incredible Hulk...gets a main actor change in this one....
(Marvel wanted to keep the same actors in all the roles - fantastic idea, genius. They then re-do the Hulk with an inferior cast...why not make Hulk 2, or re-do it with Ang Lee's perfect cast?
They pick the mountainous ego of Edward Norton, who already didn't fit the look at all of Bruce Banner....and don't get a multi picture deal with him, and of course, he bails after one movie.....)

-my biggest pet peeve in movies is changing actors. I can never look at that character the same because ....they're someone who looks and will play that role COMPLETELY differently.
The weakest part of Nolan's Batman movie? The love interest...same role played by two different actresses.

Look how easy it was to include the Scarecrow - they never even had to say his name. He just showed up and started talking, and his mask is pulled off - that's all that's needed!

Harry Potter! The actors can just stand there, or give Harry a hug, and he doesn't have to announce their name because they're played by someone completely different.
They can immediately get on with it! David Thewlis immediately equals Prof. Lupin.

But I really really want it to be good and succeed. If all else fails, we'll always have Batman 3. With ALL the same surviving actors returning...thank GOD!

This movie is going to be FANTASTIC. I couldn't be more excited.
Honestly, I'm not even worried about Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. It's unfortunate that Edward Norton didn't stay on for more films, but I don't believe that it will effeffect the quality of the film in the least.

I am sooooo stoked. This is like my 12 year old self reading Avengers comics best dream coming true!

By the looks of the trailer it seems pretty awesome. I hope it doesn't disappoint though like Spider-man 3 did and Fantastic 4.

There was Ang Lee's Hulk, which was a stinking pile of garbage, and numbers among the worst comic book adaptations ever. Its existence was completely ignored in the creation of Marvel Studios' The Incredible Hulk, an infinitely better film on every imaginable level.

Have this gem of a comic up in my Dad's attic. Jim Starlin at his classic best.

Pretty cool that they threw in some NIN for the trailer. This movie looks pretty bad-ass, but seems like more often than not these type of movies don't live up to the hype. Here's hoping that the Avengers does.
