The decline of our society continues...

In the Atlanta metro area, a mob pried open a glass door and broke into a mall early to get some "air" between themselves and the "nice" shoppers waiting for the mall to open. One woman was arrested for allegedly leaving her two small kids in the car while she went inside the mall. If the Jordans had xbox games or tablets attached, I guess the national guard would be needed. This shopping year does seem to have more than its share of supply/demand mayhem. The bad economy seems to be the excuse given to go gangsta. I do not know if allocating tickets to those in line or holding a lottery would help. I imagine it would only endanger the lives of the winners.

This is what George Romero was trying to express when he made Dawn of the Dead.

This is how we inflate minimum wages! Forget about money stock! Ratios mean nothing!

The US; the US, money stock... Nevermind, use up ALL credit inflation, too write all those paychecks!!!

If they were named after Larry Bird, they would be worth about 40 bucks. Michael Jordan and his Bulls gear were fought and killed over in the early 1990's. I wonder how many kids were murdered just because of MJ. This was due to insane hero worship. Jordan was one of my favorite athletes, but he wasn't worth going to jail for.

So much stuff happens in real life that would seem over-the-top if you saw it in a cartoon or a "Saturday Night Live" skit.

I have more faith in jungle animals I watch on Animal Planet than my fellow mankind.:sowrong:

There is absolutely nothing out there that I would behave in such a manner over. And the bad stuff hasn't really started happening yet........what are they going to do then? I'm stocking up on canned goods and staying my arse in the house! I want no part of it at all!

In many ways Western society has become an extended childhood. Children want , they dont know why and often they dont even know what until a bright shiny commercial tells them. If a child cant have what it wants it throws a tantrum.

Excellent observation!

Now, just wait when production goes down... Because, producers/manufacturers don't have capital to invest in retail shops(let alone, export goods to other countries).

Amen to that!

The "super nova hottest gotta have it or my life is not worth living" items of consumption, be it toys/electronics or clothes are always produced or stocked at a low enough inventory level to keep the fires(and cash registers) burning. I agree that the current riots over these items do not bode well for the time when food and water is even scarcer than now. I wonder how great a boiled Jordan will taste then?? I know the people in the United States that are already hungry have a much more sincere opinion on these pathetic consumption binges.

Selfishness....greed....violence....from the 99% ?? No....this just cannot be.....

After seeing what just happened in North Korea I am not going to be too critical of Western Civilization or the US.

What aggravates me most about things like this, is people that can afford to buy all this expensive crap when their on welfare!

As above, so below...

This kind of thing is not new. When John Lennon wore a pair of glasses of the kind issued by Britain's National Health bureau in the mid-1960s as part of a costume in the movie "Help!", supplies of the specs were reduced to nearly nothing in a few weeks' time. When the Who played Cincinnatti on December 3, 1979, fans eager to get the closest floor seats poured willy-nilly into the venue, trampling 11 people to death. (When the band heard of the fatalities, they were in tears. One of the reasons they went on at all was because they realized that if they didn't, they'd never play out again.)

Reminds me of that story on Black Friday, where some woman pepper sprayed a bunch of people for a scarf or something dumb like that.

Well I'd like to remind you all of the riots in the UK over the summer and join me in my despair for the future of the human race.
