Yea I know it can be really odd. Someone you knew in college or high school pops up in a dream. Strange how your mind assembles things sometimes.

That happens to me fairly often. Sometimes it is somebody that I hadn't thought about in years. Why they show up in a dream is definitely a mystery to me.

Yea same here. Latest theories are dreams are a way for the way to calibrate itself. To coordinate vision and stuff. As such the brain pulls up random memories and makes a story about them. That's the theory at least. Dreams are not a movie more like a few images. Why they are so hard to remember.
