Oh you think you're sooooo funny.

Well you are. I was waiting for someone to make a pun out of my name. Props for being the first to have the guts to do it.

Also: "Goddamnit Barb!"

So wait, Donger is actually a blond canadian chick?

Mad respect for understanding that.

I watch the podcast every week! Btw, Gavin is not an accurate representation of us british folk... hell, he's barely an accurate one for a cockney! (Londoner that spouts gibberish... even they aren't as bad as him!)

Gavin isn't an accurate representation of a human being!

Only some kind of god or alien could guess how his head works.

...since I'm poking in all the active game threads and bugging/encouraging people...

How's it coming, Wizard of Tickles? Progress being made on the next chapter, or is life keeping you busy?

Oh yeah... I wasn't able to post about the hiatus cause the forum was down! XD Thanks to a serious cock up with the place I work, I'm being made redundant at the end of the month.... This left me pretty stressed out and has meant that I'm having to focus most of my free time on finding a new job. So I've had to halt progress on the game to a practical stand still.

That absolutely sucks, Wizard. I hope you get back on your feet soon. It can be rough out there.

Set up a Patreon. Might help.

Got in today, had to call up my bosses cause they forgot to turn up to the meeting regarding the fate of our jobs.... Turns out the higher ups have put the money crisis on hold. So that means I've still got a job and am now financially stable again and resume working on Laughing House!

Anyone else getting the vibe that someone high up at where I works is secretly one of us and huge fucking fan of my game? Cause I go on hiatus because of losing my job, day after remembering to announce that on TickleTheater I get my job back... COINCIDENCE?!?!?!

Pros: You have a job again and you can resume work on the game.
Cons: Your place of employment now knows you're "The Laughing House" guy.

I'm goofing around. In all seriousness, glad to hear everything worked out for you.

It's ok, it means I might get a pay raise!

You and I both! I'm gonna officially resume work on the project tomorrow though, since I've got a shit ton to do today and I want to finally start up Resonance of Fate tonight

I've been considering starting up a twitch channel thing to stream my work on game through. I figured I'd put this idea out to you lot, since I don't know if any of you are interesting in see the work that goes into making the game... or if it'd be too spoiler heavy to interest you all.

Can be really nice to watch the work and the game making I think.Of course it can spoil but if you explain what you do without explaining the story content itself it's a limited spoil ^^

If you start this twitch channel I would like to watch it ^^

It might sound silly, but I feel like the biggest spoiler would be us seeing all the mechanics of everything. We'd see the placements of traps, stuff like the floor pattern for that one puzzle, etc.

Or, perhaps, you could explain what goes into making the game AFTER you release it.

Or, for those instances that reveal floor patterns, just make a dummy for demonstration purposes. Don't show us the REAL one.

And for spoiling story... Just do what I do. Be Cryptic. A lot.

I came up with a work around to avoid spoiling the story, I'd put in all of the important text and such off of the live stream.

That's a point.... hadn't thought about the puzzle spoilers

Could do i guess

I like the idea because it gives you an incentive to get it done. The problem is there's no way to do it without spoilers. 🙁

No way to do it without puzzle spoilers, but I could easily get around story and scene spoilers by doing them offline

I just played the game all in one go to the end of chapter 2 (<--hope that is the newest stand)... and really... it is a "great" game!!! I liked "everything" so far but the best is, the aura of tension in the air never lets up!!! You never know when the next trap gets you!!!🙂

Only at the end I realized that I didn't fight a single time or leveled up and I didn't even miss it cause my mind was occupied the whole time from the story progress itself!!! Just how a tickle game must be (only my opinion so).

There is but one thing that I noticed in all those games I played so far, and that is, that the main character in all games is practically "only" seriously tickled in the "game over" scenes. That means if you actually play the story of the mc through, the main character didn't expirience the desperation of being lost to tickles even one time.

I don't know if I am the only one thinking about that but I thought I could as well say it maybe it will led to an inspiration.

Why not include scripted scenes were the mc just can't avoid getting into a pinch we don't play commander shepard right??? Perhaps getting caught into a trap and getting tickled for a few days (in cell or another dimension pocket) and when all hope seems to fade away, suddenly a means of escape presents itself, or a third party that was met along the way (or a stranger) comes to the rescue unexpectedly. OH and Perhaps the rescue party doesn't really do it for the goodwill of things and you are forced to break a deal???

I mean these rpg-games aren't played to be the almighty "never" losing hero that never makes wrong decisions, that rescues the world like in mass effect or dragon age... right??? The mc here can be as vulnerable as a normal person would and sometimes be lucky and sometimes not. I hope you understand what I mean.

Anyway thank you ticklewizard for this great game!!!:thumbsup

Thanks LordMod, glad you enjoyed it!

I quite like the more narrative take to these kind of games myself.

As for the "game over only tickling" gripe... it's cause it's fairly difficult to get these things to happen outside of the game overs, given that they tend to be as a "punishment" sort of thing... though the next update might sate you.

Thanks for your suggestion.... but given the set-up and such of this game, this kind of scene is very difficult to pull off whilst sticking to the narrative

I like the game over tickling format. That means the tickling never has to stop.

I like game over tickling for said reason too. I actually would have no problem if the main story ends in such a "game over" way too. :stickout

I just meant it doesn't should be the only occasions when the main character gets tickled, because after every game over it is like you timetravel back and nothing has ever happened to the mc until the very end. Since every game over is an "end of its own" it isn't really part of the storyflow if you continue the main story.

It is the same after every game death in any normal rpgs you just load a savegame and in the end the mc has saved the universe without much trouble for him/herself. That's ok then cause we want to play overpowered heros like that.

But a tickle rpg is a bit different, "here" we actually even play because we "want" to lose!!! We actually perhaps want a pretty normal or weak person for this, so it does seem totally normal that the mc would lose here.

Anyway I have started to speak to much again. I don't know anything about the programming with rpg-maker and only thought I would point it out if nobody had noticed it, so if it is to difficult to make I can understand this.

PS: Since you said it would sate me I am looking forward to your chapter 3 even more ticklewizard.🙂

The reason why nothing happens but time travel to the DJ (god knows why you think Lucy is some kind of MC.... she's more of a rocker!) is cause it's pretty hard to go on about the game from captivity! (And I'm not writing out a lifetimes worth of tickling for every fucking single game over!)

Don't worry, you'll enjoy it.... when I get round to finishing it! I'll admit I haven't done a lot more work on it despite saying I resumed development. Been busy with a bunch of stuff and not really been in the sort of mood I prefer to go into this game with.

Just to make sure I meant "main character" with "mc" and that doesn't stand into conflict with being a rocker or what did you mean? (Also I meant it more generally speaking, not specifically your game alone that's why I didn't use any character names.)

PS: Sorry I am not very familiar with shortcuts too what stands the term DJ for?

I like to think of it as kinda like playing some kinda hardcore, roguelike type game with perma-death. Each time you play or load, you see how far you can get, and that's the official canon story for your character. If you play until she gets tickle socks stuck on her and can't get them off, then that's the official story for your character; she never made it out because she got trapped in the tickle socks.

Anyway, that's just how I personally like to see it.
