I could have sworn I posted something this morning - my computer must have eaten it.

But anyway, I have been hearing lately about an interdenominational group that has been going around claiming that they can help ticklish people become unticklish - if they really, truly and desperately want to change, of course. The outlay is a bit steep, which might make some people suspicious, but it's very easy to make up for it. There is a huge opportunity on the lecture circuit for somebody who's genuinely ex-ticklish. With a nice little run of appearance fees, well there you are. I couldn't see this sort of thing working for me - I'm not at all the type to want anything passionately and desperately enough - but some of the people who claim to be ex-ticklish are entirely credible. Anyway, it seems that Wade might be interested, so I just thought I'd mention it.

I didn't say I recommended it - but surely Wade ought to be allowed the right to self-determination. If his life of being so incredibly ticklish is such an enormous burden and torment to him as he has occasionally suggested, then he certainly should be able to attempt to order his life differently. Besides, CD, it could yield you a benefit. Maybe making the attempt to become ex-ticklish will strike Wade as a huge mistake and he will embrace his extreme ticklishness in a way he never did during all that time he was wishing and hoping to be different. So many people harbor wishes for years that just fester and make them unsatisfied with their lot and poison their lives until, as it were, the bluff is called.

And in a real life aside, I have two friends who used to be more ticklish than average about ten years ago who now apparently are genuinely what one might call ex-ticklish. They both say it wasn't anything they thought about or did anything about; their ticklishness just went away on its own. One really marvels at the infinite variety of the human condition.

Besides, if I succeed in becoming ex-ticklish, CD will no longer have any power over me. Muahahaha.

I'm just hoping that the process doesn't involve some kind of extreme, incessant tickling--a desensitization process intended to push the subject over the other side into nonticklishness. 'Cause, between you and me, seto, I'm not sure I could handle that.

(Had a co-worker once who bragged about how she had trained herself not to be ticklish, and was always telling me that it would behoove me to do the same since she noticed that my weakness in that regard was so significant. Needless to say, she was usually tickling me while she told me that. But--fun fact!--turns out her ticklishness wasn't entirely eliminated after all, just a little resistant. Doesn't change the fact that I was more often her victim than vice versa, of course...)
