The original Myers Mask from Halloween (1978)

I just watched and interview with Jamie Lee Curtis from my Halloween H20 DVD and as it turns out the Michael Myers mask from the original film as actually a William Shatner/Captain Kirk mask from 1978. Apparently they simply removed the eye brows and painted it white and a legend was born.

If the Shat ever finds out he will no doubt want back residuals, and rightfully so, his face made Michael Myers a scary SOB.

Yeah, that has always been one of the cool little tidbits about the Halloween franchise, which I happen to be a big fan of. I'm pretty sure Shatner is aware, though it is interesting to note that they have altered the mask to some degree in every sequel since. Pretty common for that to happen, though.

P.S. The movie was actually released in 1978. Not a big deal by any means, but it was the year I was born! 😉

Well I just found out about it today, I would guess that it was because Star Trek: The Motion Picture had just come out recently that the mask was out there.
