It's just the world we live in.

If one leaves before the other, maybe they won't be the AFC Title Game automatics anymore. But as far as division titles & playoff births, they're still gonna be there.

And next season when they start off slow at 1-2 or 2-3, can we please not declare the dead?

I think when one decides to hang it up, the other one will follow. If and when Brady decides to retire, I can't see Belichick sticking around.
