The Pet Thread

It amazes me how some people have 2, 3, 4 or more dogs. I can barely take care of 1. Between feeding him, taking him on daily walks (sometimes multiple), playing with him at home, vet visits, etc. it's like having half a kid I think. Plus the Boston Terriers I've had all didn't want another dog in the home. When my brother's dog visits Damian gets jealous and tries to boss him around (even though he's not as big as my brother's dog).
My cousin has like 2 or 3. Not sure how she affords it . The vet bills can be really high.

That's if they're healthy with just regular visits...I won't tell you Rollins story (my previous one) but if I told you how much I spent on him when he got sick you'd go through the roof.

Oh I know. Why I didn't get a pet yet. My cousins dogs needed some help. She spent over 10,000 on them. I could never just let them die but I can't afford that kind of money.

Yeah I saved up a lot of money when I was younger had no bills and basically was cheap as hell lol...that helped and also I've been day trading in the stock market for several years and take out any money I make off it.

There was a show called Dr Jeff about a vet that essentially tried to help ordinary folks. He offered services ar way lower prices. He would price operations like for 500 or a 1000 when regular vets would charge 5000 or more. He was based in Colorado. An awesome guy in my humble opinion.

Everybody I know with a Golden Retriever has several dogs. Apparently Golden Retrievers like other dogs around them.

Yes I've heard that. Ironically if Damian sees a dog at the park he wants to play with them badly...but he just doesn't care to have one in his home on his turf.

They say the bigger dogs are the more well-behaved and calm. The smaller ones are crazy.

My cousin had a big dog called Timba. It was very friendly and well behaved. My neighbor has a small poodle that goes crazy whenever someone walks by. That's how I know my mail is coming lol. So I guess you are rigjt.

Damian (who is currently standing over my keyboard in front of the monitor) is definitely a little crazy but will never be as crazy as Rollins...we used to say Rollins would go into "psycho mode" and he was completely uncontrollable and nobody was safe when he was in that mode lol.

Yea that can be a problem. The neighbors dog goes nuts but just cause the wants to play with someone so badly. I feel sorry for him at times.

Well playful isn't bad...that's how Damian can be but he also can tell when he's tired and will pass out and nap...Rollins you almost had to force him to sleep sometimes. He would be panting going crazy playing nonstop.

Yea the neighbors dog is a little more frantic. Like no one plays with him. Which makes me a little sad. I think its just his personality though. Didn't think poodles went that crazy lol.

Well sounds like you need to invite yourself over for a play date.

The women that talk to me because of Damian would never talk to me if I was alone but yet I'd never ever use him to pick up a woman.

If you have a dog they will. Trust me. But their attention will go more towards him.

I don't know how Damian wanted to walk in the heat but we took a morning walk before it got outrageous and I let him go in the little water areas to get a drink.

Very smart to do it in the morning. Around noon to 2 pm can be brutal

That's one advantage to owning a dog. 🐕
Funny sometimes they'll simply look towards us as we're approaching and say "so cute" without saying who they're talking about and a few times I've been tempted to joke thank you lol.
