The Strange Things Thread

The local senior center that I go to sometimes for lunch is very good at keeping obnoxious people away. That's one of the reasons that I like it.

I am lucky in that the senior center is just a 10-minute walk from where I live.

Another random strange thing is why do most of us worry too much about minor stuff?

Well I try to avoid drama at all costs lol.
But I will say when I was younger (and even now from time to time) I find myself getting anxious over small stuff approaching (or things I assume will be a big deal) and waste so much time worrying about it...then it comes...it happens...and I realize how stupid I was for making such a big deal out of something that turned out to be so small. I really hate when that happens! 😛

I always knew the saying, "Don't sweat the small stuff," but not until age 70 was I able to distinguish among an annoyance, a problem, and a serious problem.

An annoyance: Your dentist tells you that a filling fell out and he will replace it. It will take 20 minutes and cost $150.

A problem: Your dentist tells you that your molar can't be saved. It needs to be extracted, then you need an implant. This will take four or five visits over the next six months at a total cost of $7,000. [Note: This would still be just an annoyance to a billionaire.]

A serious problem: Your dentist tells you that there is a lesion on the roof of your mouth that needs to be removed and biopsied. He offers to recommend a surgeon and an oncologist.

Yea same happens to me. I overreact then realize latter it want that big a deal. I think I am better at not over reacting these days then I was when I was younger. At least I hope so

Very good example my fried. 👍

I came up with that example from having all too much time in dentists' offices during my life.

I hear you Mils on the dentist...I had a more serious situation years ago and now that puts it in perspective when he says "oh you might have a cavity" where as a kid I'd freak out.

Unfortunately, my first big dental procedure came at age 7 when I broke off a front tooth and needed a root canal and a gold cap.

Dentists always scared me even more then doctors.
