Theory of Relativity in tickling?

I've noticed that in some true stories, the people involved estimate the duration of their tickling and it seems unrealistic. Like if some guy is tickling some girl who is extremely ticklish and can't stand being tickled (and isn't restrained), and he says he tickled her for 15 or 20 minutes, I have a rough time believing it. Or if a girl says her boyfriend tickled her feet on the couch for 5 minutes straight--that's a long time!

I recently had an experience where I caught my female friend's bare foot under my arm and tickled it off and on (she couldn't stand it either) until she provoked me, and we broke out into a tickle-wrestling match. As it was happening, it felt like forever, maybe 15 minutes. But we were exerting lots of energy, and looking back on it, I'm sure the episode didn't last more than five. Could it be because I was enjoying it that it felt longer? (Besides, I thought "time flies when you're having fun.")

Our perception of the passage of time is based in part on how much we get done, or how many different events we experience. If we're focusing on a single thing (such as reading a book, or working on a project requiring intense concentration) then we can "lose track of time," and spend much longer at it than we realize. On the other hand if we don't have anything to concentrate on then we notice each separate thing in our surroundings, and time can pass very slowly.

There's a third type of attention that we see when we're engaged intently with something that doesn't lend itself well to purely mental concentration. Even when we're painting a picture or writing a story, our focus is essentially mental and internal, with our hands working almost without our conscious attention. But if we have that same intense focus on an activity that requires us to constantly make decisions, process new input, or exert effort, then our minds record a great deal of activity and input and often translate that into a long subjective time. Some examples of this would include intense physical exertion, good sex, combat, and difficult high-speed driving.

I've had this experience in tickling, and I've also had the opposite experience. If I'm focused on doing something very precise but not extremely physical (such as aiming a feather between a certain 'lee's toes), then I can get into my own zone and lose track of how long I've been tormenting her. Fortunately, that usually works out well.

Yep...

One of Einstein's own favorite illustrations of the relativity of time - "for a young man sitting on a park bench with a pretty girl, two hours can seem like two minutes; for the same young man sitting on a hot stove, two minutes can seem like two hours." It certainly seems logical to assume the same holds for a tickling session.

In a nonfiction story I described being tickled by Mistresses Zara and Kassandra for 45 mnutes. It was not an exaggeration, Mistress Kassandra timed it on her watch.

To me, it seemed to be hours., 😀

Hmm...I think "unrealistic" is mostly in the eye of the beholder, right? I mean if someone says they went 18 hours, you're a freaking liar IMHO ( a body needs sleep, ok?) but I can honestly say my longest session went 9 hours. Now, I'm also honest enough to admit that included showers, meals, some revenge and a meltdown on my part (damn diabetes!) that he brought me back from.

I think it's a little unrealistic to say that someone tickled someone else nonstop for fifteen minutes, thirty minutes, an hour, and so on. Not to say that it couldn't happen, it's just not likely.

But it's not unbelievable to say that a tickling session lasted thirty minutes, an hour, or even several hours. A session can include short breaks--even if they are just several seconds here and there for the ticklee to catch her or his breath--and does not necessarily have to mean nonstop tickling.

u people r heros , eversince i got here on the forum i've seen people talking about several minutes up to hours of tickling they either receive or give,
i don't know HOW!!
i remember the most time i've experienced tickling was 2 minutes (i think if not less) in a tickle fight just 2 minutes and the one tickling me i think had pity on me ,
i would have propably died if it lasted longer it was really too much 🙁
so how do u people take it for several minutes or hours!!? somebody tell me the secret of ur tickle strength!

I did mean 45 mintes non-stop. With two Mistresses ticking me, there was always at least one of them tickling, even when the other was getting a new implement or re-tightening my bondage as I strugglied.

One morning we took my daughter to school and we were back home by 8.30am. He was being a smart ass all the way home so of course I had to teach him a lesson 😀 I decided to untie him and let him rest while I made lunch but when I went downstairs and looked at the clock it was 3.40pm and I was late collecting my daughter from school!!!!!!!

I felt soooooooo guilty. He didn't even get any proper breaks, only long enough for a sip of water. I was running around after him for the rest of the day as if I was his slave. Poor man slept 4 hours after and felt exhausted for the next few days.

I never believed anyone who said they were tickled for over an hour before but now I see that it depends how they are tickled. If someone is tickled on their most intense spot for a few minutes they go into silent laughter and crying into choking, it's just not possible. I know, I've tried it with a few people 😀 But...... if someone is tickled on a not so intense spot it just causes laughter and the lee can still breathe properly so it can last longer.

I have said on this forum that I've had tickling sessions that have lasted one hour and fifteen minutes. I did the same: I checked the clock when we started and checked again when we finished. But there is no way that this tickling was constant; I would've choked on my own spit or passed out from asphyxiation. I had a TON of small breaks.

More than likely, I was tickled for no longer than 2-3 minutes at a time, given a few seconds and it started again. At most, I'd say five to ten minutes was the longest constant tickling I've ever been given and frankly, I am grateful for that. 🙂
