Alvarado Texas.A woman led police on a 25 mile chase with speeds exceding 110 mph until she crashed into a concrete median. Her 9 month old daughter, who was unrestrained, was thrown from the car and killed. The woman suffered minor injuries. She has been charged with manslaughter, evading arrest, resisting arrest and reckless driving. Why is it the innocent always seem to die in cases like this, and the idiot survives. :disgust:

Valid question.
I don't even wanna imagine though, what it must feel like to be responsible for the death of your own baby. :disgust:

*sigh*

It seems to be a resounding theme throughout the ages.

As has been quoted many a time in modern vernacular: Only the good die young...

:sowrong:

In a case like this,i cannot have any sympathy for this woman. No matter what charges she may have been facing if she had stopped, she had no right to endanger her child like that. And its against the law to have a child that young unrestrained in a car in the first place. If thats why she was being stopped, and the story did not mention that, she would have gotten a ticket and the whole thing could have been avoided.

I do agree with you. There is no excuse for her irresponsible behaviour. No excuse at all. It's almost impossible to feel sorry for her, but no matter what's going to happen to her, she is punished for life already anyway.

That is terrible. Had a similar thing happen Friday night when someone crashed into an small strip mall. The woman first hit another vehicle, continued through the parking lot picking up speed and crashed into the strip mall. Her passengers were her mother and her 2-year-old daughter. Luckily the little girl and the driver survived. Unfortunately her mother died. Found out that the driver and her mother had been drinking, and the driver's blood alcohol level was 0.2. Despite the legal ramifications, the driver has to live with the fact that she killed her mother. :disgust: :sowrong:

it's very sad that some people are so reckless that innocent people get hurt or even get killed. but it's all the more angering when the life lost is that of an innocent child.

I couldn't find too much on the story. It looks like even after the crash the woman was still fighting with the cops. She must have been on something.
I hope the guilt is worse than any punishment she can get from a judge.

I was just thinking that. Hard to imagine what the courts could do to her that would be worse than that.

A normal person would be crushed, and probably suicidal... This lady, however, went flying down the road at over 100 miles per hour with her baby bouncing around unrestrained in the car with her. If she cared about the kid, she wouldn't have done so.

Given that she was willing to place her child in mortal danger to evade the police, she's probably more upset over being apprehended than she is at the death of her child.

'nuff said. Cest la vie.

Celestial social services felt the need to take the child from the mother. Kid's probably in a better place now anyways. Life in this world is not always something worth envy, especially with a parent like that.

RIP

AUT pretty much said my sentiments. This woman had no business having this baby given the (lack of) responsibilities of properly restraining the baby. Whether she realizes this or not, this woman would have been better off killed in the accident because she has no idea what she has coming to her. When she has her arraignment and her day in court, the judge and the jury will show absolutely NO sympathy toward her, and rightfully so. Not to mention, while she is waiting for her day in court, she is going to get tourtured from every angle. When the fellow inmates find out that she was responsible for the death of her baby, and the circumstances surrounding the incident, they are going to have their way with her. I think there are some cases where sometimes surviving is a worse punishment than death, and this case is one of them. Even if she has no conscience about her baby, she will get crucified during the judicial process and incarceration, and in addition, probably have nobody to turn to when she gets out of prision (if that day ever comes). She will have probably alienated all her family and friends, assuming they have a shread of a consience. She will grow old and gray all alone.

Shit like this really pisses me off, and I really hope, what I said is what she actually has coming to her, and I would love to be a fly on the wall when and if it does.

i also blame the police...these high speed chases always or many times end up killing innocent people..

Nobody told her to run.

When someone speeds off from a police officer, the officer doesn't know why he/she does it. They could have drugs, be a kidnapper, have someone in the trunk, just robbed a store maybe even just killed someone.

Officer's don't know this, they also cannot rest easy knowing they let a subject go without knowing the reasons. All an officer wants is for them to stop.

He might have just been pulling her over for a damn tail light, maybe even being a routine stop for verification of driver's license and insurance... heaven knows nobody seems to have any in El Paso...

She made the choice to run, she forced the hand of the law.

I dislike having to defend the police. I hate cops usually, most of them have the attitude of bullies where I come from and the mercy of Spanish inquisitors..., but this was not a situation where they were at fault I must say. She chose to endanger that kid. She could have at least restrained her with a proper seatbelt and the kid might have lived.

Like I said earlier... C'est la vie.
