Thinking about reformatting my hard drive...

But I obviously don't wanna lose all my goodies I've collected over the years. I've got a buncha clips that are too big to put on diskettes, and no, I don't have a CD burner. I know you guys that share this stuff all the time upload them to a server or something, but I'm not geeked enough to know the deal there. Assuming I got permission from the people who made the clips to post them to share (Jeff, TIB, you two payin' attention? Some of these are yours... 😀 ), how/where would I do this? I'm sure this has been asked in the past, too, I just can't recall the threads... Lil' help? 😕 :idunno:

Are you sure you want to reformat the H/D or just de-frag it? Running the Defrag program often will clean up the drive and make the system run a bit smoother and quicker.

Nah, I do my system maintenance regularly...

...disk cleanups and defrags, at least once a month. But it's been acting increasingly wierd lately, crashing with no provocation, freezing up, giving me the dreaded "Blue Screen Of Death", etc... plus, there's a BUNCH of crap on there that I can't get rid of using the add/remove software function. I dunno WHAT my options are, so I thought I'd toss it out here for the braintrust to gnaw on. 😀

If you are running Windows XP you can do a system restore to an earlier date when your system was running fine and keep most of your hard drive intact. Just a thought.🙂

you can do system restore in millenium too but it`s very hit and miss,XP`s works better though(bout the only thing that does though in XP,lol).if it`s not cost,just shyness bout getting a cd-rw drive fitted on a puter full of tickling stuff,why not get an external one,they just hook up to a usb.
