I think the first thing to keep in mind is that everyone is different. For some people, being tickled often can help them get used to it similar to the way you are thinking. However, some people seem to never gain any control and are just explosively ticklish all the time. Regarding pedicures specifically, of the very ticklish people I've known that get them, they don't seem to have any special advantages in terms of learning to control themselves, but they do often seem much more sensitive on their feet due to the thin, healthy skin resulting from the pedicures. There's also differences between the application of touch during a pedicure and during tickling, as well as a big difference in the mood and state of mind between the two activities. So while a lot of people do find pedicures ticklish, not all very ticklish people do because of those and possibly other factors. I still find it so surprising how there seems to be such a fine line in the type of touch, the mood, and the state of mind the lee is in, as to whether something feels pleasurable, neutral, or ticklish. I can massage my wife's feet and she'll just melt into deep relaxation. Conversely, I can change my motion or pressure ever so slightly (but intentionally 😈), and she'll try to kick me off with violent force while squealing. Other times, if I've convinced her I'm going to tickle her, it almost doesn't matter how I touch her–It's going to tickle.
