Thoughts on pedicures?

I just watched a 4 min video of a woman getting a pedicure. They were scrubbing her feet with a brush the entire time. I wouldn't think someone who is extremely ticklish on their feet could handle it without going hysterical. I have mixed feelings about pedicures. On one hand it would remove the dead skin and make your feet super soft and sensitive. On the other hand, if a person can handle a pedicure, it seems like it would take a lot to get them laughing while tickling their feet. I wouldn't think it desensitizes their feet, just that it might allow them to control their ticklishness?

I think the first thing to keep in mind is that everyone is different. For some people, being tickled often can help them get used to it similar to the way you are thinking. However, some people seem to never gain any control and are just explosively ticklish all the time. Regarding pedicures specifically, of the very ticklish people I've known that get them, they don't seem to have any special advantages in terms of learning to control themselves, but they do often seem much more sensitive on their feet due to the thin, healthy skin resulting from the pedicures. There's also differences between the application of touch during a pedicure and during tickling, as well as a big difference in the mood and state of mind between the two activities. So while a lot of people do find pedicures ticklish, not all very ticklish people do because of those and possibly other factors. I still find it so surprising how there seems to be such a fine line in the type of touch, the mood, and the state of mind the lee is in, as to whether something feels pleasurable, neutral, or ticklish. I can massage my wife's feet and she'll just melt into deep relaxation. Conversely, I can change my motion or pressure ever so slightly (but intentionally 😈), and she'll try to kick me off with violent force while squealing. Other times, if I've convinced her I'm going to tickle her, it almost doesn't matter how I touch her–It's going to tickle.

As far as a clinical pedicure; I've only had one and the scrub portions of the pedicure was sort of hit and miss as far as how ticklish it felt for me. Surprisingly my arches, and heels didn't feel ticklish to the scrubbing, but the toes, and balls of my feet were MUCH harder to ignore.

The girl that was treating me to the pedi was enjoying watching me grimace, and struggle to keep a straight face because she knew about my ticklishness, and how it affected me.

Of course she was very ticklish, and had her own struggles with it as well. (Maybe; I'll post a true story about it later)

I guess the pedicuring process can be overwhelming for someone that is ticklish, but the soft, and clean after affects seem to be worth it for alot of people.
And yes; the pedicure definitely makes for a much softer, and sensitive tickle experience for us tickle fans so; much praise, and appreciation to the people who brave the scrubbers.😜

I know i couldn't handle it

I’ve had one pedicure, knowing my feet are pretty ticklish. There was only one part where the woman scrubbed the soles of my feet with a pumice sponge. My foot flexed away because it tickled, but only for a second or two, then I got through the rest of the scrubbing with no flinching or giggles. I have friends who are more ticklish than me and crack up laughing while getting pedicures, but I don’t think that stops them from getting pedicures.

My wife has pretty ticklish feet and she pampers herself with a pedicure quite often. I’ve inquired about the ticklishness of them and have been told that a lot of the time they do tickle her but when they see that she’s squirming or holding back laughter, they’ll switch up their technique. They're not really looking to tickle people or make them uncomfortable in any way.

But… once or twice… she’s had someone doing the pedicure that seemed to her to be getting some entertainment out of tickling her feet and it’s always with some kind of stiff bristled brush. She said it never lasts long though. I think the videos that we’ve all probably seen are set up. The person recording is at the very least egging the pedicurist on, if not paying them extra to tickle.

There’s a reason why I went with the word express pedicure last time. I knew the lady doing it, she was gentle, it was just her and I at the end of the day and I think by her & I having conversation it distracted from the tickling aspects like the nail file on the side and massaging the bottoms of my foot with her finger pads.

Now add the “cheese grater”/ buffer um look out!

Idk where these ticklish women are, but every time I go for a pedicure with my wife, no one else in there seems to be freaking out or experiencing a ticklish reaction. My wife squirms and giggles a bit, which is fun. But I have been going for a couple years now with her and can count on one hand thr number of times I have seen ticklish reactions (not counting my wife)

I like this topic.

My wife has very ticklish feet. She always laughs uncontrollably when I tickle her there and is not able to hold back her laughter for more than 1-2 seconds.

However she never laughs during a pedicure. She might squirm a bit or make a face showing that she is trying not to laugh but is able to control herself.

I have asked her more than a couple of times how she is able to hold back her laughter. She admits that it tickles but because she knows that the pedicurist is not trying to tickle her she is able to control herself.

My wife and I are both ticklish on our feet but she agrees that is a tad more ticklish there than me. I’ve gotten a pedicure a few times with her and I start laughing. Not super loud laughter but enough for the pedicurist to notice that she is tickling me.

What is interesting is that while my wife’s feet are more ticklish than mine, she is able to control herself but I can’t.

I’ve only seen a couple of ladies laugh while getting a pedicure while the large majority of ladies that I have tickled have ticklish feet. I get, the math doesn’t add up.
