Ok, so I was reading this blog: http://cabinet-of-wonders.blogspot.com/2009/04/benefits-of-tickling.html

In this blog, it was talking about the benefits of tickling and ease of pain (I'll let you get the details from the link). This is not the first article that I have seen about some medical study about ticking, but I read this quote:

"Could it be a new answer to some minor health issues? Perhaps it is the new acupuncture, and we will soon see Tickle Clinics springing up everywhere.

Now that would be a thing worth seeing."

And it got me thinking....

There are new studies about ticking popping up every year, and there has been a huge surge of holistic and massage therapy in the last few years. Tickling has even hit the mainstream in art galleries and such! So my thought is, what if there was such thing as a tickle parlor? Not for fetish play, obviously, but a place where people can come in and be tickled on the feet, or arms, or where they feel pain, just to feel better? Laughter is the best medicine, after all, and now there is evidence that stroking contact can be healing as well. It seems perfect!

I feel like it could be legitimate, if taken seriously. After all, it would be a lot of money to set up a business just to tickle people to satisfy a fetish, huh?

Anyhoo, what are your thoughts? Do you think that this could work? I know it would be "awesome," but do you think that people would take it seriously enough to actually partake? It would be a great business, if so.

that sounds awesome, however I'm not sure if people would be willing to be tickled just to ease the pain. Unless they like being tickled (sexually or just playful) I don't know if they'd like it. They'd consider finding another method of easing the pain.

however I'd love to go into business with you and start our own tickle parlor 😛 lol

Well, it could very well be billed just like any other massage business: stress relief, therapeutic touch, etc. It wouldn't just be for pain relief, and we wouldn't really be licensed for dealing with severe pain, or anything like that. It would be more for sore spots, arthritis, restless leg syndrome... stuff like that.

C'mon, any other thoughts, everyone?

Now if you could get Blue Cross to pay the bill.:jester:

(I'm serious, not joking)
It'll probably happen, it'll be on the news, and it'll start in California. Rich fat housewives'll start the trend/craze, and after a month they'll go to great pains to keep people like us out cause we enjoy it.

Then there'll be upscale pet tickle therapy, etc

Well, if you were a LMT, you could offer it as an extra, but just as strictly tickle therapy, you would still need to be licensed through the state just to touch someone and I don't think they would approve of tickle parlors.

Since most people don't like to be tickled, I seriously doubt that they would favor half an hour of tickling over a two seconds injection! 🙂

Personally, I do not want to be tickled when I am in pain! And I also think, hasty and involuntary movements you will do without a question while being tickled could actually worsen the pain.

I don't think it would be very effective!

Well, again, the pain I'm talking about here wouldn't be that severe. Very minor stuff, like things you wouldn't see a doctor for.

But lots of good points were brought up. Maybe this will have to be put on a shelf, for a while. More scheming is needed.......

I don't think it would be a good treatment for pain, but maybe for depression! 🙂

Two woman talking in a restaurant.
One says to the other, "I thought I was going out with a doctor, until I discovered there is no such thing as "acutickle".

with my particular injuries, tickling can help. Stimulation of muscles just beneath the skin can loosen them up-
of course i gotta be careful with all-out thrashing about or I'll screw up my neck
