Tickle Tatoo

Yes I do, Steph! I believe the only two I have on display on Venrays site are my foot tattoo (the one I described earlier in this thread...2 blue feathers, crossed at the quills, united by a heart), and the butterfly tribal I customed designed myself that is on my right upper arm. Aside from those two, I have 4 more. A large, 8-inch-long tiger butterfly surrounded by long weeds and flowers on my left upper arm. A large 10-inch-long blue winged dragon entertwined around roses on my left calf. A heart with a sword stabbed through it, with two blue roses on my right calf. And the other tattoo I described earlier in this thread - the Japanese Kanji Symbol (it says the word 'ticklish' in Japanese) done in a plain black tribal style on my right front shoulder/collar bone (2 inches above my right breast). I will have to get some pictures of all of them and display them on a webpage. I have always wanted to do that anyway, so now I have an excuse to...lol.

If you know what to expect going in to get the tattoo you want, you'll do that much better in the tattoo chair. It sounds like you're well prepared and well-informed, so I am sure you will do marvelously. Besides, you've got several piercings (including a hood piercing), and for all of my tolerance for pain when it comes to getting inked, I would be WAY too much of a wuss to go through those kinds of piercings. You've got nothing to worry about!

Mimi 🙂

Yay MIMI--yes, you should definitely post up those pics, I LOVE to see other people's ink! Let me know when it's up...Now, on your arm, are you going for a sleeve or will you stop at the tiger--that sounds amazing BTW, as do all the rest!!!

(hee hee!) I have several friends with several tattoos that just shake their heads at me, "Girl you are CRAZY! No way!"

Yeah I think I have a pretty good idea of what to expect--misery! <gg> Most friends have described it as no so much excruciatingly painful (of course it will be for me, no doubt!) more like an irritating scratching with some burning. To make the experience all that more fun, I'm a known bleeder (doesn't this just get better by the second? Now I just need someone to shoot me in the head...) LOL! Seriously though, I'm not as brave as you w/regards to size....I plan to go just big enough to make it not look ridiculous--pretty big canvas as you know. Ooooh cool, you do your own designs--do you work in the biz???

XOXO

Are the tickle tats in openly visible spots on the body or hidden so that only could be seen if the wearer exposes it or is it in a
"personal" area where only a chosen few will ever see it?

Personally, I would get it in a semi covered spot.....visible in the summer or when I was in shorts, like lower leg or maybe on my back somewhere.
Still thinking of location and style. Not sure if I should go subtle or obvious.

TTD~

I hold relatively little back in both my real and my cyber life (as you've probably noticed) so I chose my spot (although it's now considered boring--I don't care, I'm having it done for me alone) as someplace where only the chosen few would get to see... Kind of a sexy secret and since my job requires me to be covered at all times no one in my professional life would ever know...What do you do for a living? I notice the gen pub seems a little less judgemental w/men in re: tattoos...I see lots of guys in scrubs running around doing rounds, sporting tribal armbands around their biceps. If I showed up (I shuttle between both the main hosp and my office in the admin building) in my own office with a large beautifully colored tattoo in the same place, the head honcho would call me in immediately. (You could freeze ice off this woman's ass, she's so chilly). Bottom line is I think it depends on your situation...

Agreed Steph, it wouldn't work for me either, unless it was well hidden. I've personally never considered getting a tattoo, but working with children, if I did, I'd want it well out of sight, lol. The hospital environment calls for professionalism, but if its cute and harmless, who cares.

Re: Re: Mardi Gras masks sound like a great idea, Steph!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Lite--you poor baby, I'm so sorry---that sucks gigantic monkey ass (and just for that crack alone, I think I'd have had to bop my artist in the head!) See my response to Mimi...

Yep, I fully expect to cry my way thru this whole thing too. But I know in the end it'll be worth it--my best friend wants me to get a Goddess w/the feathers instead of the Mardi Gras so I've got some thinking to do...

Although I didn't cry for any piercings but I know this will take MUCH longer...Seriously, how much do you love yours now???

XOXO

Thank you, Steph; my sister was with me when I got the tattoo on my back, and we BOTH wanted to bop him on the head! 🙂

And I absolutely love it now! I just need to have the one on my shoulder adjusted (adding to it), and have another one done on my back (upper back this time). 😉

LOL!

No doubt, honey--Thank God for your sister. Jeez, what a schmuck <gg>

Ok so when this is all over will you have a fully covered back? From the descrip it sounds like Mimi was working on a sleeve. I like the look on others but despite my nutty online personna (just an act, really!) LOL! I'm actually quite square... Will you post pics like i hope Meems will? I only want that one relatively small piece but I do love the look on others...

Not fully covered. ! I have one that's about 2 or 3 inches across on the small of my back; the next one will be about the same size, but about 3 or 4 inches below the nape of my neck. Although I've seen tattoos that are like folded angel wings running down either side of the back, and I thought that looked very cool, there's no way I could ever take that much pain.

I do have a pic of the one on my back, but I can't post it; it shows my ass. 😀

I only have one tattoo, which is very simple and small. I designed it myself. It is of a treble clef with faerie wings and pixie dust around it... very me. Mine did not hurt very much at all. I was told that the location I was having it placed on usually hurts more, but I think I was misinformed. It's on the spot between my right hip bone and bikini line. The further onto the bone and the harder the artist pressed with the gun would make it hurt more, but I was able to make conversation with my friend almost the whole time. There were times at which it felt like something between a tickle and a mildly annoying scratch. Not bad. And it's super cute! Mwah!

oooh those sound cool...Hey what's wrong with showing a little ass now & then? <gg> My mom's from Sicily--we're ALWAYS naked--LOL!

I was thinking about geting one above my ankle, anyone have experience with this area ?

I do. I have one right above my right ankle. If you get it to close to the ankle bone, it can cause a lot of discomfort. Aim for the spot on your leg above your ankle bone, where there is a little more flesh, and you should be just fine. That is not too painful of an area to get one done.

Mimi 🙂

My best friend does--painful--you're right on bone...
