One of the replies from that question:
"That really, although meant to be sarcastic, I'm sure is a very good question.
I have always held the position, to the anger of some christians ,( I am christian by the way ) that the cross is not a symbol of life but of death. I often asked people when they strarted to wear a cross around their neck ( to show people they were christians although I felt they weren't ) why they were wearing a symbol of death? They would look at me like I was crazy. I would then go on to explain to them that the symbol they were wearing was used to kill throughout Roman times and was not a symbol of life, that they should wear the symbol of life or something that was more of a positive message than a cross. I also asked them if he was killed by an axe would they be wearing an axe around their neck. Besides this the bible says you are not to make any graven image or bow down to one and they make great reverance to the cross. This has always bewildered me as well. If he was hit be a car today would you wear a little Toyota around your neck?"
Dude. If that was a Ferrari that He got hit by, we'd all be RICH.
