Tickling as stress relief / therapy

Most definitely! For me it's even moreso this than sexual really--it's a release from tension in a completely different way. It's about the psychological aspect more than the physical one, the feeling of being helpless yet not in any danger. The mind-numbingly taunting knowledge that the 'ler is wanting me to go ballistic, lose all that hard-won composure that I so desperately need to drop, just makes it all the sweeter!

I've heard it described as a huge stress release by a lot of people. All of the pent up energy is simply gone after even a short tickle session.

I've actually said to my Bf I NEED this.

Even with short tickles- I feel my body regain something. A little more happiness and less tension. And after a scene I feel like a million bucks. I wake up the next morning singing and dancing my brains out while making breakfast. And all day long, for days =) When I go too long without, I get very depressed- and usually I sort out the other reasons why I could be until I realize why I'm really depressed. Tickling actually wakes up my "happy"

You know for a long time I was a HUGE Horror fan. (I still enjoy it from time to time) But... I think I was doing myself a HUGE disservice by scaring myself too much. (not speaking for anyone else but me here) Watching more comedies and stand up help the in between periods. And I dance and stuff- but laughter really is I feel the best medicine for the body, mind and heart. And when I get to tickle someone else (been too long for sure-4 years I think) I find myself smiling and laughing right along with the person. So, its to say I live vicariously thorough the other persons torments as well. Laughter is infectious. If I didn't think someone could find a loophole or a way to sue me if I'd open a tickling for health clinic (course I'd have to be a millionaire anyway to do this I think). I'd open one in every state. There's too much stress and not enough outlets. I actually believe there would be a lot less murders in the world if this was available. Bill Maher was just talking about in one his recent New Rules segments on how its "lack of pussy" that drive Men to kill. I say yes and no. You can have tons of pussy being thrown at you- but if you're not happy or have no outlet to laugh... that builds up into some very bad actions. Along with- temper control. Plus and MAYBE I'm reaching here... I'm not a therapist or doctor... I'm talking out of my bungholio here... but I also think it could help rape victims learn how to be touched again (some- not all- some people just HATE tickling overall) But with being made to laugh it would associate positivity again- to me this a real win to help people.

This will always be a sexual turn on for me- but even when things don't turn sexual I'm much happier. =)

Previous girlfriends would put their feet on my lap if I had a bad day. Just that action alone helped plenty, but getting in a few minutes of "no safeword allowed" foot tickling certainly alleviated the pressures of the day.

I agree. It would be fun for both the giver and the receiver, but I think it would best be set up in a private type setting with someone you feel goid with. Tickling, I think is a level of trust and intimacy.

Tickling is an amazing stress reliever <3
I don't actually go into it with that intention, but it is a good idea.

The whole "its hot as hell" part, is impossible for me to get passed. I can't be tickled, and not be aroused by it. Which would raise my breathing and heart rate... It's intense but afterward you feel like you just rode a roller coaster. 🙂

I'm pretty sure "tickle therapy" does exist specifically to address the issues you just mentioned.
Personally I could never use tickle torture as therapy...it turns me on wayyy too much for me to fully "relax" 😉
But look into it, I think they have an account on is site 🙂

Yes for me it is something that I almost exclusively use to help alleviate stress as well as relax. However not always great at finding others who are willing to indulge in helping me out, since most people find it too odd or are just unwilling due to thinking it obviously must mean something else than what it is.

This.

Sure, tickle therapy is a stress-releiver. That's why we do it after all. Our patients like it or just try it even when they hate tickling, but understand what it's about and what it gives. And we just share videos of the process, which is so much fun to watch 🙂

Works for my all the time! There's no better/nicer way.

Makes sense it would relieve stress in some way, since laughter will just make the brain happier and feel better. While I haven't personally tried this out but it definitely seems like something that would be awesome. I imagine that it would be nearly impossible to be stressed afterwards

Never been tickled solely for stress relief, but would love to try it. I'd probably get fairly worked up during the actual tickling itself, but could see that leading to a rather cathartic and relaxed calm afterwards.

Its definitely great for stress based on my own experience... And can be highly therapeutic as well. I'm looking forward to my tickle therapy next weekend actually. Should be fun., with all that aside though, i do really view tickling as having medicinal benefits.

That's it. Although it hasn't been totally proven by traditional medicine yet, it's something close to thai massage for example. We feel and just know that it works. And practice just gives more confidence in that.
It's a wonderful coincidence in that something which is actually so much fun to do is also really healthy and is done for good.

It's cool to collect impressions of our client-ticklees who try it for the first time. They may find out that they like or hate being tickled, if they would like to try it once more or never ever again because they are so ticklish, but nearly all of them agree that it was a great stress-releiver.

I used to say that tickling should be considered a "heavy session" at dungeons because when I was there being a Lee AND Ler is soooooooooo intense and then relaxing that you just didn't want to do anything after but have a snack, water and sleep!

I think more psychologists should look into tickle therapy but we all know how that would go...

I would pay good money to be tickled after a hard & stressful day at work! What a way to brighten up the evening.

Ive tickled a few friends as stress relief. I usually go all out to get them laughing and then switch it to light and sensual massage like tickles. Certainly a good way to spend a few hours helping a friend! 😛

Would be awesome to see someone do this professionally!

I dont think youd have to pay anything for it. In fact I think thered be a queue of people willing to do it for free or pay you! 😉

Tickling people makes me feel like I have control over my life. I'm not 100% that it turns me on without fail, but I just feel like it makes me a little less rigid, more open.

Of course getting to the point where a date might be up to it is a bit of a pain in the ass, considering most people think that any attention you pay to someone else just means you want to fuck them. My anxiety issues (which I deal with more by playing/performing in bands) make meeting people in an open setting difficult, and the online environments people seem to think are strictly for perverts (who want far beyond tickling).

So ya, tickling someone gives me a rush that makes me feel like I still have an effect on people.

Sigmund Freud would have a field day, wouldn't he?

Actually, I seem to remember a tickling case Freud had... anybody care to look this up?
Obviously he was trying to cure this person.

I always get my girlfriend to tickle me when I'm stressed out. Whenever I have a bad day, I just put my bare feet right into her lap and she knows what to do. Some playful tickles on my feet will always help me relax.
