I've actually said to my Bf I NEED this.
Even with short tickles- I feel my body regain something. A little more happiness and less tension. And after a scene I feel like a million bucks. I wake up the next morning singing and dancing my brains out while making breakfast. And all day long, for days =) When I go too long without, I get very depressed- and usually I sort out the other reasons why I could be until I realize why I'm really depressed. Tickling actually wakes up my "happy"
You know for a long time I was a HUGE Horror fan. (I still enjoy it from time to time) But... I think I was doing myself a HUGE disservice by scaring myself too much. (not speaking for anyone else but me here) Watching more comedies and stand up help the in between periods. And I dance and stuff- but laughter really is I feel the best medicine for the body, mind and heart. And when I get to tickle someone else (been too long for sure-4 years I think) I find myself smiling and laughing right along with the person. So, its to say I live vicariously thorough the other persons torments as well. Laughter is infectious. If I didn't think someone could find a loophole or a way to sue me if I'd open a tickling for health clinic (course I'd have to be a millionaire anyway to do this I think). I'd open one in every state. There's too much stress and not enough outlets. I actually believe there would be a lot less murders in the world if this was available. Bill Maher was just talking about in one his recent New Rules segments on how its "lack of pussy" that drive Men to kill. I say yes and no. You can have tons of pussy being thrown at you- but if you're not happy or have no outlet to laugh... that builds up into some very bad actions. Along with- temper control. Plus and MAYBE I'm reaching here... I'm not a therapist or doctor... I'm talking out of my bungholio here... but I also think it could help rape victims learn how to be touched again (some- not all- some people just HATE tickling overall) But with being made to laugh it would associate positivity again- to me this a real win to help people.
This will always be a sexual turn on for me- but even when things don't turn sexual I'm much happier. =)
Most definitely! For me it's even moreso this than sexual really--it's a release from tension in a completely different way. It's about the psychological aspect more than the physical one, the feeling of being helpless yet not in any danger. The mind-numbingly taunting knowledge that the 'ler is wanting me to go ballistic, lose all that hard-won composure that I so desperately need to drop, just makes it all the sweeter!

Its definitely great for stress based on my own experience... And can be highly therapeutic as well. I'm looking forward to my tickle therapy next weekend actually. Should be fun., with all that aside though, i do really view tickling as having medicinal benefits.
I would pay good money to be tickled after a hard & stressful day at work! What a way to brighten up the evening.
I used to say that tickling should be considered a "heavy session" at dungeons because when I was there being a Lee AND Ler is soooooooooo intense and then relaxing that you just didn't want to do anything after but have a snack, water and sleep!
I think more psychologists should look into tickle therapy but we all know how that would go...
Sigmund Freud would have a field day, wouldn't he?
